The Jules Cesar has a wonderful location at the foot of the ampitheatre hill and along the main street where the market is held. It is close to the city hall / cryptoporticus and walking distance to the best archaelogical museum I've seen in France. The hotel and rooms themselves are nice and clean. Dining and breakfast were a little... more

My parents, boyfriend, and I took a tour of the Provence region in October 2008. Our base for two nights was the Hotel Jules Cesar in Arles. Unfortunately, while the surrounding area of Provence was fabulous, we just could not find a way to like Arles or the Jules Cesar. The entrance to the hotel and the lobby were nice,... more

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel picked for its ideal location in the centre of Arles with car parking. There was a minor confusion with check in caused by a computer fault at the time of our original booking which meant that we were allocated the wrong room. This was quickly rectified and a complimentary upgrade... more

We stayed at the Hotel Jules Cesar for 2 nights in early June. We had mixed feelings about our stay here. We had a deluxe room on the ground floor (the hotel does not have a lift). The room was very unique with stone walls and lots of Roman character. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better, right on the main... more

Nice hotel on main street, very nice staff, could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Stay on Friday night when you wake up Saturday morning to a fabulous market right outside the hotel. more

We booked the Jules Cesar for a romantic break without our children. I had visited Arles as a child and wanted to go back to the area after 30 years. I booked the hotel after much internet based searching, as a surprise for my wife, who thought we were drving up to Yorkshire till we stopped at Coventry airport! The... more

Centrally located on the "main drag" of Arles, and within 5 minutes walking distance to all the sights, this hotel is probably your best option for luxury in Arles. Though the rooms and beds are small, they feature stone walls, and (very key in France) the bathrooms have good plumbing and the showers have curtains (a rarity). The breakfast features... more

This is supposed to be a nunnery converted into a luxury hotel, featuring in many guides as such. But unless you can be fooled by the excuse "it's authentic provencal" for everthing from tatty threadbare carpets to a small uncomfortable bed, this is not for you. \No attempt has been made to upgrade the cell-like rooms with their lack of... more

I cant say enough about this place. The town was picture perfect with loads of charming shops, restaurants, cafes and history(they have a 2nd century Roman arena there that holds bull fighting on Wednesdays in the summer... there is a huge historical spanish influence in this region) The hotel was a nunnary at one time... its totally renovated and modern.... more

We have just returned from a delightful stay in Arles where we were treated like royalty at this charming hotel. We stayed in a lovely suite overlooking the inner garden and although the decor was quite old-fashioned, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The hotel is well-located both... more
