Eric & Augusto, the hosts, were just gorgeous. Extremely helpful. They gave wonderful recommendations and were happy to chat over coffee and beautiful sweets that Eric had made. Very generous. The room was perfectly fitted out with anything you could possibly need. The walk through the old lane ways back to my room every night was magical. It is such... More

I was one of the last guests in their original B&B as they started renovations on the newly acquired property due to open in spring 2013. of which I had a sneek preview. The hosts pledged to keep the new one as charming and full of character as the L'Aubergine Rouge I've stayed in and I think they'll do just... More

Our B&B hosts Eric and Augusto have a great location in the old town and they were very nice guys as others have described here. The room is small but is cozy still with a tv/dvd/comfortable bed, a good size bathroom with great shower. Breakfast prepared generally by Eric who is a former chef now culinary teacher so really prides... More

The hosts: Eric and Augusto: Both are seriously committed to making your stay pleasurable. They will make dinner reservations and restaurant recommendations for you; they will research stuff for you; they will go over maps with you, and mark your points of interest and intent; they will share the local history; they are genuinely interested in you; they are happy... My boyfriend and I had the most incredible stay with Eric and Augusto. We travelled for over a month and stayed in five B&Bs and this was without a doubt the highlight. The room is simple but has a very comfortable bed, CDs, DVDs, and a lovely bathroom with a HUGE shower. We felt very much at home here. When... More

All the other reviews are right on. What makes this place great is the B&B itself, the location and your hosts, Eric and Augusto. It's a very old townhouse and you get the main floor with a good sized bedroom and quite a large bathroom. All the things you might need have been thought of from the bathrobe to the... More

We knew we had arrived in the right place when we read our names and a welcome writtenin chalk on the front door of this lovely b&b which has only one room to let on the ground floor. The location is very central within walking distance of everything. The shower is big and the bed is comfortable. Eric and Agusto... More

What really sets this place apart are its hosts. Very friendly. More like staying with really nice friends than at a hotel! Plus, the room was cosy and clean, the breakfasts tasty, and there was fast internet access. We had dinner with the hosts on the night we got there and enjoyed the conversation and 70's french music. Eric set... More

Travelling by train in France during the transportation "interruptions" created a few eventful days. We were unable to travel the day we were to arrive at L'Aubergine Rouge and the next day, after a long troublesome journey, we arrived in Arles at 10:45 p.m. to a dark, deserted train station. After pulling luggage from the bus hold, I turned to... More

L'Aubergine Rouge is such an amazing place, mostly because of Eric, who is truly the kindest, most hospitable host you could imagine. Upon arriving, we found the place after we saw a big welcome note on the front door - which not only showed us we had arrived at the right place, but also made us feel so welcome there.... More
