The pictures of the hotel and the rooms looked nice and it was nice to notice that this time the reality matched the images. The hotel room was clean and cosy. Colors are light and earth toned making the space calm. As you step out of the hotel you are in the heart of the old town of Aix-en-Provence. Markets,... More

This hotel is ideally situated in the heart of old Aix. Restaurants, cafes and bars are right in front of you in a picturesque setting. Despite that, the room itself was quiet. Our room was very good value, had fast free wifi and a safe. All the staff we met were extremely efficient, friendly and obliging, perhaps reflecting that it... More

The hotel is tucked in a very beautifully romantic corner with a fountain just behind the famous Cours Mirabeau. If you stay here, most of the attractions are within walking distance. There are restaurants just outside the hotel and also a pharmacy next to it. So, everything is very convenient.

I spent 4 nights in this hotel 11th / 15th January 2015 when attending the Court of Appeal . The hotel is in the best location , situated on a pedestrainised street just 200m from the main boulevard. Rue Espariat is full of nice shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The immediate area is very safe and orderly. The hotel was... More

Great Place to use as a walking base for Aix En Provence. Recently remodelled, our room overlooking the Plaza was quiet. Very good bed, very clean, nice other furniture. The Staff for the most part was excellent. Elias was super in helping us find a place to eat on Christmas Day. Most of the locations were closed. Really nice shower... More

The good: The room was really quiet since it wasn't facing the (very loud) street. The bed was comfortable. There was a good shower that keeps the water in the basin, a rare feat in France. The bad: We were two, but weren't given two cards by default. Many TV stations didn't work. The wifi was terrible, almost workable. There... More

In Aix on business for a few days and needed a hotel accessible to food and transportation without having a rental car. The Hotel de France fit the bill. A very simple hotel room, not too big but not a tiny room, either. I had plenty of room to breathe, the bed was comfortable, good sheets and the bath was... More

The location of this place was wonderful. It was right on a square close to the main fountain in the center of town. It was walking distance to everything. The room we had was wonderful during the day, including a balcony overlooking the square. But because the square had many restaurants and bars, it was impossible to sleep. We ended... More

Booked 7 days at this hotel to prepare for my wedding in Aix en Provence. Hotel is renovating but it doesnt disturb at all. The manager and the owner who is present are eager to make sure the customers are satisfied. Location is ideal and can't get any better in Aix. Rooms are quiet and clean. Definitely would return if... More

We stayed here on a 3 night trip to Aix. We checked in and the room was tiny, extremely small, no place to put the suitcases or even to hang clothes. The AC was not working and was a summer hot night. When we asked to the front desk they refused to change rooms. The morning after we asked to... More
