Visiting from Canada, my wife and I spent a week in Aix en Provence at the beginning of October. This 2nd floor Reine-Jeanne apartment at Sous le Tilleul, was the perfect apartment to call home for that week. Living in the same building, Marie-Christine was a gracious hostess, assisting us with the "where's" & the "what's" of Aix and the... More

Spending a week in Aix is already a great thing - the food, the sunny late August weather, the music - but this second floor apartment makes it even better. It's clean, clean, clean, with large rooms, excellent closet space, a comfortable large bed and a nice view overlooking the garden. It had been a terribly dry summer in southern... More

My new husband and I spent the first week of our honeymoon in the very comfortable second-floor apartment, and enjoyed our stay very much. I was amazed at how large it was, and how beautifully and elegantly decorated. We loved eating breakfast on the balcony overlooking the peaceful garden. It was a quick walk to the center of town, weekly... More

We stayed in the ground floor apartment which was spacious and full of lovely furniture and beautiful lamps etc. The garden was a real delight very peaceful, it was a joy to wander the markets of Aix and return for lunch in the garden. You really felt it was difficult to tear yourself away from the luxury of the apartment... More

This is a 2nd floor apartment complete with a long balcony overlooking a garden in a building with a lift in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. The owner also runs a B & B and lives on the ground level. This apartment is a dream - spotlessly clean, comfortable, wonderful king size bed, great bathrom and modern kitchen. It is a... More

Our 3 night stay at Sous le Tilleul was just excellent. Our host Marie was very friendly & kind, the suite was large, very clean and tastefully decorated, the garden is just beautiful and breakfasts were dellicious. The locaion cannot be beat with just 5 minutes away from the center of Aix, that combined with the car parking included made... More

We stayed in the Suite. From the moment we walked up to the building until we finished our first breakfast, this experience just kept getting better. Other reviews have said it all and we can only echo that one will not be disappointed with a selection here. Marie Christine is a most gracious hostess and obviously has an eye for... More

I am not a fan of B&B places. My wife and I are very much hotel people with a lobby, phone and an establishment feel. However, I must say Sous le Tilleul completed our trip. It was beyond great! The service, the location, the cleanliness... perfect. The breakfast... homemade jams and a plethora of breads and other fresh foods. I... More

Sous le Tilleul; clearly THE BEST guest house in Aix-en-Provence. Marie-Christine Ducros, the lovely proprietor, is warm, helpful, attentive. The suite is spacious and comfortable. Everything is spotlessly maintained and beautifully appointed. Inviting breakfasts out on the lovely terrace were special. A fantastic location and a fantastic stay.
