Hotel Le Manoir is a charming old hotel that was once a monastery. It is located in Rue de Entrecasteaux which is right in the heart of the old part of town. If you're driving there just be ready to go through the tiny streets. The interior looked tired, though it had that old fashioned elegance to it. The rooms... More

This hotel is in a good location, central to lots of restaurants and not too far from the bus. It's clean. The rooms are small as expected with very limited lighting. In our room, the shower and toilet were in one room, and the sink was in another room, which was pretty awkward. Perhaps they have other rooms which are... More

A good deal for a busy town. Everything was clean and simple. The rooms were small but that was to be expected. The hotel itself has a faded grand quality to it. We felt as if we were inside of a movie. Quiet and close to everything. We would stay here again.

I keep going to Le Manoir: it is one of the best deals in Aix en Provence. But this time the room was really small for its price. Personnel are of varying degrees of helpfulness. Some are really nice, a couple of them are always defensive, on everything. Bathroom without window or vent. Wifi still only in the hall on... More

good budget, only had male receptionists, some better than others, small rooms but clean and not annoyed by city noise at all. I had low expectations checking recent reviews but it was all very appreciated. The building has its charm, it is reconstruction from the 17th century, hence I chose not to go there during hot or cold period (we... More

We could walk everywhere from this hotel. Also, it had a big parking lot, which is a huge advantage in these towns that were designed for horses, not cars. The staff varied in helpfulness, but no one was ever rude. They all seemed to be trying. Rooms were clean, bathroom was sparkling. The carpet was old, but who cares? It was... More

The reviews for this place suggest a wide range of experiences which, having stayed there on a couple of occasions now, I totally understand. On the one hand the hotel is in a great location just a few yards from the heart of town. Rooms are clean, booking straightforward and prices very low. On the other hand service is indifferent... I was in Aix-en-provence for a conference this September and booked 4 nights stay in this hotel. When checked in, the young staff in the reception try to be friendly, but in the evening, the older reception staff is extremely rude. The internet can only used in the reception for one hour free charge with a code. When I asked... More

I stayed at this hotel almost 20 years ago, and when returning to Aix in August 2013 it was first on the list to book. It was just as I had remembered. It is a splendid old building, with uneven floors, room doors opening outward, and no air conditioning. Frankly, these all add character, and we found no difficulty in... More

This is a friendly hotel in a medieval monastery that has been restored with great love and care. We found the staff helpful and friendly. The rooms were small and, that's right, they didn't have air conditioning. Read the first sentence: this is in a restored medieval monastery. If you're too warm, open the window. Some have commented about the... More
