Situated 20 minutes from Aix en Provance this little chateau is very well maintained. We took the family room and was surprised (good news) that the room is actually separated in one very large suite and other big one and both are accessed by a corridor that has a door that you can close for your privacy. the rooms a... In fairness I did not stay here again, there is not a chance I would, but I was driving past so popped in for a drink by the pool. Nothing has changed and the staff remain unwelcoming and rude. They do not know how to run a hotel and need to learn from better establishments. I have seen some of... More

Dear Sir, Mister X, thank you for the time spent writing your precious comments, however your posts are always so harsh, which leads me to believe that you have a personal problem with the Château de la Pioline. 45,000 customers have trusted us from 2011 with no problems, proof that your analysis is marginal and unfortunately too much directed to... Our arrival felt weird as we drove by car dealerships and neon signs well outside the main city of Aix-en-Provence. Not a nice setting. But you turn into the long driveway lined with tall hedges and enter a different world with extensive grounds and greenery. This stately, historic chateau dates back to the 1600's and was once occupied by Catherine... More

The chateau is quite beautiful and may be good to stay for one night. But I am not sure that I would like to return there again or stay there for more than one night. The building and the territory at first sight unexpectedly impressed, especially considering that this hotel is located behind industrial area, however… The check-in took very... More

On arrival at the hotel we were told they only had us down for one night, luckily l had brought the confirmation email with me clearly showing we had booked two nights. The receptionist was insistent she was unable to accommodate us for two nights and set about finding us alternative accommodation. After a good 10 minutes miraculously she said... More

Beautiful location (once you are on the property), lovely rooms, but they had an incredibly loud wedding going on. I had dreamed of a quiet Sunday afternoon and evening at a French chateau w my husband, but we endured 6 (yes I said six) hours of super loud dance music with a pounding base. It was so loud that there... More

We traveled as a family of four (2 small children) and had a pleasant stay for three nights. Yes, location is a bit out of town, but it is on a lovely grounds. (Aix itself is about 10-15 minutes away, and parking is difficult in-town. ...I really dont think you could find such nice accomodations for this price point in... More

Sadly overtaken by ugly Industrial complex all around. The chateau and its grounds are beautiful although no lift means having to climb stairs to large airy comfortable rooms. Drive to Aix if looking for life or restaurant other than hotel food which was not up to French standards.

The chateau is a superb building, and the restoration in 2011 is exceptionally well done (it should have won awards), and the reception and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Although in a slightly odd spot on the edge of the city, it would make a restful, elegant, place to stay whilst exploring one of France's most beautiful cities,... More

The hotel is run by inexperienced staff, the price is based on the Chateau itself and not on the level of service, the large dusty white chippings leading up the drive and to the Chateau would ruin anyones shoes, our garden room was very average no view of the garden just a tree in the window, bath is so high,...
