I selected this hotel somewhat at the last minute based on the Trip Advisor "top value" recommendation. The staff were nice, and there was free parking, but other than that I don't have much good to say. The hotel is not walking distance to the center of Aix, which I knew when I booked, but I thought I'd be getting... more

The frontage of the hotel is well-maintained. The rooms have a 80's feel but it is clean. Our room had a view of the mountains. This hotel does not have a lift so don't bring heavy luggage. The receptionist, Marie, is not helpful and a bit curt. . The district of the hotel is quite a distance from the heart... more

Ignore the shabby laneway entrance - like us your initial disappointment will change once you enter the peaceful grounds of the property. During our stay we came to appreciate the great location, quiet surrounds and basic but comfortable facilities. This was a great place for our three-year old to run around safely but I don't know whether the room configuration... more

This aparthotel looked stunning in the pics I saw on the Citea website/online, however I was a little disappointed when with this place for real. The aparthotel building was gorgeous and beatifully restored, however our room in it was a bit shabby with old furniture as well as being quite dark. However, it was clean and the bathroom was nice.... more

Our stay for 3 nights at the Bastide was nice, though very hot! There are fans available, though not well known. We skipped their breakfast and bought pastries in town the night before to eat in the room. Bus #6 stops down the drive and took us to center of town each day. Clean, basic and nice! more

Stayed here for one week at the start of August. We had one of the smaller upstairs rooms which was basic but comfortable. Quite hot at this time of year but a large fan was provided and you don't stay in your room much anyway on holiday do you. The room included a microwave, fridge and two electric burners for... more

Stayed for 10 days this month. One of the larger rooms-- loft with double bed plus two fold out beds downstairs. Breakfast is meager. A selection of not so freshed baked goods, strong coffee. They want to know at the front desk the night before if you will partake. NOT worth it after you get to the nearby Casino and... more

Stayed there for one night in July, booked a duplex room for 3 people. The doublebed on the mezzanine was comfortable, but there is no airconditioning and as the bed is higher up than the window, all hot air is concentrated on top and cannot escape. Tropical temperature of roughly 35°C made it virtually impossible to sleep on the top... more

I think for the pice I was expecting something a little more modern. It was clean and the views from the windows nice, but it felt a little run down. The kitchen was small and pokey and the toilet was right next to it. It was too far from town to walk and had to rely on the bus which... more

Almost wound up at the Ibis after a hot and long day of driving. Accidently found this place as we missed the drive for the Ibis. The Bastide is a restaured country home of former French King Rene (14 century). They have turned it into a hotel with studio and mezzanine appts. The grounds are large and peaceful, staff wonderful.... more
