Our desire was to stay in the old city so our choices were limited. We expected less and got a LOT more. It took looking at several rooms until we settled on one that we liked. The room was immaculate - most days the service was great (we hit one surly desk person one time - and the location was... more

It's always the same: the … a misleading and should ALL be read with apinch of salt. St Christophe is no exception. Great location in the very heart of Aix en Provence. True. Easy to find, true. Pay extra for garage space, fair and true. Except the grage is miniscule - if they offer you space 12 to 16 be... more

After spending a fortune at Hotel Le Pigonnet in Aix (at $250/night), we were stunned at the incredible value of St. Christophe. The staff, several of them, are fluently bilingual and one amazingly efficient young lady suggested that I not take the suite, but opt for a renovated room instead. We asked for the keys to both and checked them... more

This is a very underrated hotel; it is a lovely boutique-type hotel in Aix. This hotel is 2 blocks from the train station(NOT TGV!) and 150 feet from the Tourist Office and another 200 feet from the Cours Mirabeau, the main street in Aix. The service was impeccable; the rooms small, but rather good size bathrooms. The staff speak French... more

My sister was going to France for a much-needed break after a rough few months. Flying San Francisco to Paris direct; I knew she'd be wiped out upon arriving. I decided to try and have some flowers in her room for her arrival. I emailed the Hotel Saint Christophe not fully expecting a reply. I got an immediate reply from... more

We stayed here for 2 nights during our 2-week trip through France. Of all our hotels, it had the best buffet breakfast (lots of fresh fruit, eggs, meat, cheese, bread, coffee, tea, pastries, etc) of any hotel we stayed in, for the standard ~10 Euro cost. It is 1 block from the fountain - the major traffic roundabout in Aix-en-Provence... more

Just got back from our 2 week stay in France. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (If I were to plan the trip again 2 days and 1 night is probably enough for this town). The hotel is located out of the main part of town where the restaurants and small streets and the action happens. You can... more

I stayed in a room on the ground floor that you access via a hallway behind the front desk. The hallway is narrow, the floor uneven, and there was a door leading to the outside that was always left open. As such the hallway was always really cold and my room was cold as well. The hotel had left a... more

Since this was my second segmented trip to France, I was able to compare it to the many hotels I've stayed in. Hotel Saint Christophe was clean, centrally located to the center of Aix-en-Provence, relatively inexpensive (I was still traveling in the "high" season), friendly and accomodating. The staff was helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was an average... more

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for three nights in September 2008. The room was small and located at the back, but I had requested the cheapest type of room so that was to be expected. The location was fantastic, the staff all spoke English and they were always helpful. We only had breakfast one day as it... more
