thought this one was really nice for a change. We were travelling for a month and this room had some real old turn of the century charm. Service was good and friendly. Located on a very quiet street near the church, yet a two minute walk to the busy restaurant area and easily accessible to strolling the rest of the... More

Spartan hotel well-located in the quartier Mazarin. Our room, on the ground floor in annex facing the street, could have been noisy but wasn't. The bathroom was a strange little cave. The price was moderate--though not really a bargain. Breakfast was unexceptional but cheap.

My wife and I stayed here three nights and were very pleased. We found the staff to be very polite, friendly, and helpful. The room, while somewhat small by our USA standards, was clean and nicely decorated. A real plus was the bathroom, which had modern facilities and was crystal clean.

I booked the Hotel Cardinal for 6 nights based upon Trip Advisor's recommendations and was VERY disappointed. PROS: great location, good price, nicely updated bath room with deep tub! CONS: I felt the staff were not very friendly or welcoming. When I told them my room hadn't been cleaned and wanted to know when I should vacate it so it... More

This hotel is perfectly located for visiting Aix, an easy stroll to the main street (Cours Mirabeau) and hundreds of shops, markets and other activities. The bedrooms are inconsistent - some large, some small, some with magnificent pieces of heavy old furniture, none with great mod cons, but an atmosphere of days (long) gone by. I was lucky and had... My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Cardinal for two nights in September 2014, and would in a heartbeat return. It's a lovely little place -- charming and unmistakably 'south of France' in character -- and absolutely incredible value for the $. There were no suites available on the nights we were there, and so we wound up in... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in a huge room overlooking the courtyard (round the corner from the reception). The room was perfect- huge bed, sofa, chairs, separate kitchenette in another room and a little walk in robe and the location of the hotel is perfect so very central yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle so as... I stayed five nights at this 2-star hotel. I would say it should be 3-star. It is in an area of mansions, and so it gives a taste of those buildings. It is a charming property. My room was one of six very large rooms. I had two windows that opened to a balcony. The street view was exactly what... More

In the case you would think to book in this hotel whose interent site looks so nice and "provence-style", think twice obut it. Do you know that there are rooms with NO windows in this hotel (priced at 78 euros). You read it! NO Windows. And of course absolutely no mention of that at the moment of booking (and to... More
