I agree with the other reviewers that it's not a 5 star hotel. They position themselves as such, but they really fall short in the service and attention to details. It is a lovely and charming property, with beautiful gardens, a nice pool and a very hip outdoor lounge. Our rooms were good size connecting rooms, 40 and 38. 40... More

Let's start with the positive experiences such as a good location (10 min walk to the city center) adorable garden, mainly attentive staff and good sleep comfort. However the hotel has positioned itself as a five star which I think is questionable considering the following; (i) poorly designed bathroom with large amounts of water on the floor after each shower,(ii)... This is a lovely hotel with a great location, nice room, beautiful grounds, heated pool and an exceptional restaurant. We stayed in a deluxe garden room that had a great view of the pool and off into the hills. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to town - perfect distance, seems like its in the country but close enough... More

booked this hotel way in advance - old, dirty rooms, for what they charge! Complained and they took us to another room the next day - we were showed 3 rooms, carpets all filthy - after having to stay in the room they gave us, we decided to check out. Booked way in advance. BEWARE - all rooms are small,... More

Le Pigonnet was a great hotel from which to base our first experience in Provence. It is a beautiful, vine-covered villa with lush, sculpted gardens (surrounded by mature trees) that create an environment which makes you feel as if you are out in the countryside (the pictures on their website are very honest representations). Yet it is very well located... More

We enjoyed our stay at Le Pigonnet. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and the gardens are fantastic. Weather permitting it is a great place to relax and enjoy a nice glass of French wine. The pool is large and heated and was a perfect place to unravel from a day of sightseeing. The restaurant is quite pretty. We did not... More

Deluxe garden room was adequate, comfortable and clean with modern bathroom. The gardens are lovely, but indoor common areas are mediocre. Often there was no one at reception, and there was no effort made by staff to enhance our stay. Walk to town (20 minutes) is definitely an issue, although it was easy to get a taxi back at night... I'm astonished this hotel is classified as any more than 3 stars. When we arrived, the room wasn't ready. Waited 2 hours in reception, weren't even offered a drink. Small bedroom, polyester bedding, old fashioned air con, complete with watercolour of Spanish Flamenco dancers on the wall (!!), 1980s bathroom, no bathroom products. The grounds are lovely, but if the... More

Based on reviews, I was extremely disappointed in Le Pigonnet. The room was small and somewhat ordinary, although the bed was comfortable, and the garden view was lovely. Breakfast was very mediocre, and we didn't even bother most mornings. The Desk staff was friendly, but somewhat difficult. Their time and energy is obviously spent on those in more pricey rooms... Le Pig was delightful! The rooms were gorgeous; well appointed, spotless, and roomy. The lobby and bar area did not really invite but the restaurant where breakfast is served was wonderful, and the gardens and private areas outside were quite relaxing and difficult to leave even though we wished to explore Aix. My only issue (quite minor) was that the... More
