This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The rooms are lovely and immaculate. However our experience was completely ruined by the total indifference of the restaurant staff. At lunch it took 30minutes to even get a menu let alone a drink despite their being very few guests. It took more than an hour to be served with our... more

We are just back from a romantic getaway at Villa Gallici. I always wanted to stay there, since its opening in 1992 when there were glowing reviews in all magazines about the style, the design, the atmosphere. Reservation was made over the phone about 2 months ahead of our stay, and it included a Relais&Chateaux gift voucher for one night,... more

The good first - beautifully appointed hotel with fabulous decor, gardens, pool, good restaurant service, great reception and booking in. Invitiation to upgrade room. Complementary tea in the afternoon which was very nice. Not so good points - to book our accommodation it took at least 3 emails and 3 International phone calls. Emails were not responded to on the... more

My wife and I have travelled extensively with relais & chateux and had great expectations of this property. The price was quite high, but we thought it would probably be worth it. It turned out to be the worst relais & chateux place we've ever stayed. Our room was extremely dark with almost no natural light and very dim electrical... more

My husband and I just stayed at this lovely property in early October, 2008. What a wonderful experience! This is a little peaceful oasis close enough for a brisk walk into Aix, but far enough from the town center to be quiet and secluded. If your intention for staying there is just to see Aix, you do not really even... more

We stayed at Villa Gallici in late July 2008. The service, attitude and english skills of the front desk and concierge were excellent. They were great with directions and maps. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The service was good to very good and the setting is wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hotel is quiet... more

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in late June. The hotel is a beautiful old style Roman Villa set on a secluded hillside overlooking Aix. From the staff on reception/concierge to the restaurant staff to the Swimming pool/leisure people, the service was just first class. The rooms and beds were sumptious with lovely touches of roses/fruit etc on arrival. We stayed... more

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Gallici for 2 nights in early June. The hotel is wonderful, and is a typical example of what the Relais & Chateau experience should be. We booked a standard room and it had a great view but was a little cramped. The service of all the staff was fantastic except for a very bizarre... more

Renowned as the best hotel in Aix-en-Provence, Villa Gallici underwhelmed us despite the obvious care that has gone into it. The property's strength and weakness is that it is on a steep hillside in the center of town where privacy is possible but space is tight. High ceilings and mirrors help, but not the sumptuous decor in which fabrics, draped... more

amazing hotel on the edge of town. A little over the top which made it even better. The staff couldn't do enough and the bathtub was to die for. Aix wasn't as wonderful as the rest of Provence, but it's worth a visit. more
