Very professional staff, as one would expect in France. Nice breakfast buffet, but, you can go across to the bakery for much cheaper and better selection. But, go very early, or everything will be gone! Hotel is within walking distance to everything you need to see in Aix. Beautiful pool area. Nice and clean! more

Nothing bad to say about this hotel. We had a great stay here. The rooms are modern and updated. The pool is to die for, as is the poolside bar. The breakfast was great. Highly recommend this hotel. And the location is great, just a quick walk down quaint, ancient streets to get to the centre of town more

This place is lovely. Our room. on the third floor, was large, clean and well-appointed with fully adjustable air-con. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The terrace (apparently now refurbished given a previous reviewer's comments?) is a real suntrap and great for late afternoon reading/swimming after a hard day's people watching, food buying and strolling in Aix's sunny... more

The B & B we had booked into outside Aix turned out to be on a motorway (B&B called Lagremeuse) so we went into town and I could rememer from the internet that the Mercure had been advertising for Euro 140 per night on the internet. Upon walking in, they gave us a rate of Euro 160 a night in... more

The Roi Rene is located a short walk from the majestic Cours Mirabeau, the main street in Aix. It's a modern hotel, not classically French, but the facilities and the fantastic service make this a great place to stay. We stayed in a double room, on the 1st floor. Completely modern, wonderful bed and bedding and a flat screen TV.... more

I stayed at the Roi Rene for two nights while on company business. Hotel is located within walking distance from the central train station, just south of the old town. Room (on the second floor) was spacious and modern. Wifi is available in the Hotel and various price models are in place (I had 3 hrs for 9,90 Euros). Had... more

We booked two nights via Venere.com at 290Euros for two nights room onlyy. you could be stung for extras though to bump the price up but we didn't think were necessary, well not for us on this occasion anyway. Breakfast was an extra 18 euros each - you can grab a simple breakfast of juice, coffee and a Danish pastry... more

I stayed for 4 nights with a tour. The first night was on the first floor which badly needed refurbishing. The room was not particularly clean, had a moldy odor and the mattresses were very uncomfortable. Could not have stayed in that room more than one night. The upper floors have been renovated . We were moved to the 3rd... more

I had some reservations booking with accor, expecting a standard chain hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Feels more like a boutique hotel set in a leafy part of Provence city a close walk to the main bit. The room was great, probably one of the best I've stayed in, although the toilet smelled of smoke and this was meant to... more

I loved this hotel! The rooms were clean and there was a huge shower (by European standards). The sheets were crisp with plush pillows. It was very quiet even during the daytime. The front desk staff were very nice and informative. There is a carpark under the hotel for an additional charge. It, the carpark, was very well lit. We... more
