For such a low price, I hadn't expected such comfort. Spotlessly clean, situated in beautiful old Aix, view of ancient cathedral and hotel garden, fast free wifi in bedroom, M le Patron upgraded our room to a big quiet room with a lovely double bed each at no extra cost (just because the room was available, I think), the extra... This is a clean, no-frills hotel in a great location. You can easily walk downtown. The interior is dated. We stayed in a quad (family) room with a double bed and two twin beds. The room was small and the shower was tiny, but the beds were comfortable. I didn't think the breakfast was worth 5 euros, but it is... More

This is a one star hotel with a great location! The price for what you get at hotel Paul is very good value! You get a very basic room, towels changed every other day, a quaint little garden to relax in during a break in the day, and courteous desk service. We read about other reviews that were unhappy about... More

I really liked this hotel. Aix has the best food market; we would buy fantastic fruits, cheeses, breads, tapanades, etc. and eat lunch or dinner in the beautiful garden, breakfast was lovely there too. Wifi was free and worked well, we stored our luggage with no problem, paid with credit card, no problem. There were no twin beds left in... More

Since I usually stay in cheaper hotels, the fact that this one star establishment offers a basic (but spacey) room with only “absolutely-needed” amenities does not constitute a problem for me. What put me off there was the owner’s attitude. If asked for holding my luggage for a few hours during the day after a usual obligatory “check-out before 11... More

Very good location. Rooms are clean, but could use a bit of renovation. Breakfast is 5€ per person, but you have to pay for a glass of orange juice an extra 1€. Receptionist speaks good English. No credit cards accepted!

We've now stayed in three areas in aix and this is by far the best location. Only 5-10 minutes walk to place richelme. The room is dated but it is clean and the bed was fine. The reception was also fine. Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have it. My only concern is the noise in the morning from... More

We arrived in Aix en Provence with no reservation in the pouring rain. We stopped at two downtown hotels, two and 3 stars, both were fully booked and didn't have any recommendations in the neighborhood. We found this hotel in an old guide book and called. They had one room left. Thank goodness for GPS because the proprietor said he'd... More

This hotel was clean and basic, but for the same price you can stay at nicer hotels in Aix right in centre ville. I am a student in Aix, and I have had friends stay in Hotel Paul several times as well. The staff are not at all friendly and wifi is ridiculously expensive. It is not a charming hotel,... More

Positive points: it is about 15 a 20 min by foot from central train station and close to city center and tourist points. There is supermarkets near. Quiet hotel and neighborhood. Friendly staff. Reasonable price for Aix-en-provence. Negative points: wifi is not free. There isn't a 24h reception. In general is a good place to stay, reasonable price for Aix-en-provence,... More
