Located in central Poitiers, the hotel is a bit run down and in need of some redecorating. It has its own garage, but you have to book your space beforehand because of limited capactiy. The parking spaces are precariously small, and there is practically no room for maneuvering. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet... More

I 'be been in this hotel at least ten times and felt each time well at ease. The staff is efficient professional and smiling. The rooms are comfortable, clean and - most important to have a good rest - very quiet. Possibly some refreshing of painting should be considered as it becomes a little old fashion. And on top of... I had a really nice stay at this hotel for a week on business. The rooms were spacious, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast area was staffed by the nicest woman! The wi-fi signal in the rooms was strong, although it went down for several hours one night. The toilet is separate from the shower, which is nice, but... More

Fabulous location right on the edge of the pedestrian area. Great welcome, very professional and helpful advice for restaurant choice. Rooms are a good size and are spotless and comfortable. Also the room was very quiet and we could open a window if we wanted to. Free WiFi and parking underground. The Sat Nav bought us right to the door.... More

Stayed for only one night with other family members. As travelling to south of France. Very pleased and will be returning. Staff very professional and rooms lovely. I was very surprised and loved the rooms we all had. As looked as they do in the photos. Breakfast was lovely and service good.

Recently stayed here for few nights. The hotel is spotlessly clean and it is also very quiet. Did not have breakfast any morning so i cannot comment. Staff pleasant. Check in was good & check out was ok as well.

This is in a great location opposite an excellent restaurant. Short walks to the sights. We had room on 3rd floor with big bed, usual facilities and a double door arrangement to main corridor so it was very quiet (as long as your wife isn't snoring). Better to have breakfast in one of the little cafes nearby (cheaper and nicer).... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights recently, it was perfect, ideally located in the centre of town, within walking distance of all the shops, reataurants, bars, not to mention churches and a beautiful Cathedral. We had breakfast on the first morning in one of the nearby cafes, however, as we were in a rush on the 2nd morning... More

We used this hotel as a stopover on our way to the South of France. Excellent central location and the staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was pleasant and the bed comfortable. The scaffolding covering the building made it seem less than 'Grand' as you approached it, though this was obviously only temporary.

We decided to take a short vacation to Poitiers and Limoges over 5 days. All by train. Le Grand Hotel is well located on the Plateau of Poiters, ( or the central part of the city) If using the train, please take a taxi to the hotel, unless one feels like climbing a very steep hill to the plateau. Once... More
