We stayed for four nights. The hotel far exceeded our expectations and the interior is most striking. We had dinner in the Les Archives restaurant, which was excellent. The staff could not do enough for you to make your stay a memorable one. In a quiet street, but only a 2/3 minute walk to the bars, restaurants and shops.

If your on a budget and room size does not matter - get the standard room. I upgraded (still under per diem) to the rooms in the "church" section, much larger #415 had a view over the roof tops. Very nice decor of the refurbished church, this room had the bath on the lower level, the bed, desk and TV... More

Stayed here on a business trip. The inside of the hotel is unlike any other Mercure I have ever stayed at. The layout of the hotel is quirky but adds character. The location is great, surrounded by good restaurants and pedestrian area. The main restaurant of the hotel is incredible, we ate here three nights in a row. Also, as... More

We stayed at Mercure Poitiers for three nights over the New Year - having read the reviews I was hopeful that it would be a lovely hotel - I was not wrong! We were upgraded to a 'superior room' which had fantastic features and was very spacious. The hotel was well placed on a quiet side street, the staff were... More

Nice surroundings, old church rebuild as hotel. Well done! Nice rooms en good restaurant in the center of Poitiers. Breakfast was fine. Very silent rooms and friendly personel. I will return to this hotel in the future.

The Hotel Mercure in Poitiers is an excellent choice if you would like a modern hotel room in an ancient structure. Although we did not stay in one of the premium rooms that still maintain the architectural elements of the abbey, our room had all of the amenities of a 4-star hotel. You will need to park your car off... More

It is unusual to have a church pillar in your room, but it makes the atmos[here intimate and peaceful. The hotel has all the amenities one migh expect from a hotel that is part f a chain in the French provice. The fact is that I felt comfortable and the staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms are moder and... More

This hotel was hard to find but once there was very easy to relax. The staff were very helpful and had really good English. The rooms were unusual, with very interesting architecture throughout. There were bars and restaurants only a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was in a really nice little part of the hotel.

This is a good chain hotel in the centre of Poitiers with good access to the historic and shopping centre. It is an interesting conversion of a former church building retaining much of the original building's features and structure.
