The bedroom was timeless, large and elegant, the breakfasts healthy and good, the hosts charming, kind and helpful, the swimming pool delightfully peaceful, the views beautiful. A perfect retreat from the world with our daughters for 4 nights in July, driving out to explore Poitiers and see the magnificent fields of sunflowers, and then returning to have an evening picnic... This review is long overdue. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night during the winter. The chateau was actually closed (very cold in the winter with no heat!) but i told them as long as there is a fireplace I would love to stay. And they were very gracious. Our bedroom was HUGE and had a massive fireplace.... More

If you are looking for a hotel with character in a beautiful peaceful setting then this is the place for you. It is not close to any major towns and as it has no restaurant you need to drive out for dinner, but the place has genuine character and charm with large rooms and the hosts are very friendly and... Arriving at the Chateau, framed at the end of a tree lined avenue, sends you back in time to a place where charm and elegance mattered. Our hostess, Catherine welcomed us with cold beer, which we drank sitting under the trees in the garden, surrounded by the sunflower field and the odd clucking hen. Our room was an experience by... Boiscousier has a lovely faded grandeur about it, but we were a little disappointed by our stay. This might have been because this was at the end of a fantastic French holiday during which we had stayed in quite a few of the B&Bs listed in the top 25 B&Bs in France on Trip Advisor (possibly our expectations were too... A fabulous 3 days in remote rural France; gorgeous surroundings, so peaceful amongst the sunflowers. Superb breakfast as well! Just be aware that the nearest restaurants are 10 minutes drive away, although the hosts will prepare an evening meal on request.

We took two rooms recently at Chateau Boiscoursier and stayed for the one night on our way driving south to Spain. Our party consisted on two boys of 9 and 6, myself and a set of grandparents, so quite a mixed bunch. Anyhow, the welcome seemed genuine and no request was too much trouble. The kids played in the pool,... More

Great place to relax a couple of days. We stayed for 5 days, just like last year. Great area to experience the real France. A true country side trip for city folks. :-) The kids really enjoyed the vast domain to play on. There's one local bar for food and drinks in Chateau Larcher (approx.5km) where we hung out every... A real fairytale castle - very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A tour of the grounds, fantastic home made supper and equally wonderful breakfast. We were even introduced to the neighbours. A fantastic place to stop off on a long journey or like us somewhere to enjoy a wonderful night away - 30 minutes up the road. Real... More

Welcoming smiles from the hostess, very different from other B&Bs in ancestral family homes where the owners appear reluctant to open their doors to paying guests. An old hunting lodge, owned by Catherine’s grandparents, full of antiques and family memorabilia. A touch of faded gentility, but nothing wrong with that. The room was huge, with a superb modern Italian bathroom,... More
