We parked the motorbike outside and could see it from the room! All the bars and restaurants and major sights were very close. The room was basic but good value for money. No air conditioning which may be a problem in hot weather.

We had a great 4 night stay at this hotel. La Rochelle is an exciting vibrant town. We were in a prime position. Leave the windows open and you were in the middle of the action. But the windows were double glazed and once closed the rooms were quiet. Could be hot in summer though. The staff were very pleasant... More

We stayed four nights here. The hotel is old and a little tired but very clean. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It is in the most wonderful position - everywhere seemed to lead to the hotel. Would I stay here again - definitely, even if the walls are a little thin and there is a lack of... More

This is our 5th trip to La Rochelle in as many years, and I'm not sure i should write this review because it is a relatively unknown jewel in the French Republic's "Crown !!" to most Brits !! , It is a wonderful place full of busy street bands, artists, etc, etc until late and polite French people. No drunken... More

This is an old hotel but in a magnficent position overlooking the harbour. The shower, toilet etc is a bit of a joke. Don't even think about having breakfast here, as it was possibly the worst we had in our extended stay in France. Fortunately they do offer car parking provided you book in advance, this is situated in a... More

Having thoroughly enjoyed La Rochelle in june, i decided to return for 5 nights in August. This time i chose a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of town. The location was excellent; close to the harbour, shops + restaurants. I booked a twin room with a nice view of the church across the road. Unfortunately the room was tiny... More

Right across the little bridge in front of hotel are the best mussels in town (and almost next door all the English papers). Staff friendly. Rooms small but clean with wifi etc. Great cheap, rocking student bar around the corner to the right. Harbor entrance right in front.

This centrally located hotel has a wonderful view of the harbour. The complimentary breakfast is a bonus. The hotel room missing basics like plug for bath, hair dryer, and air conditioning. Very limited and rough towels. General state of room is old and outdated. Rooms could soundproofing as it is very noisy - which makes it challenging to put children... More

The Pros - location, location, location. The hotel is across the road from all the cafes and restaurants and right beside the old Port. You couldn't get more central. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless, with fresh towels each day. It's very good value for money. The Cons - the rooms have no air conditioning... More

We stayed here for one night and were really impressed. You get what you pay for: the rooms are small and basic but very clean. We had a lovely view over the harbour. The only disadvantage of this was that it was noisy at night, but still ok. The staff were friendly and the location is very central and easy... More
