This seemed,on booking, to be a convenient reasonably priced place for a couple of nights to visit La Rochelle in a relaxed way. First the positives- only five mins from the marina where you can find a good choice of restaurants( Le Delphin offers free apertif if you mention you are at the Fasthotel), a good beach with good facilities... The hotel was part of a complex in what is a holiday/tourist destination. Reception was ok. Check in was quick and were provided with a map of the area. The room was very small for two people and had a cabin within that housed the toilet and shower. A no smoking room was requested but it smelled strongly of cigarette... More

The only good thing about this hotel was the very nice receptionist. Everything else is grotesque in the extreme - it is in the middle of nowhere, it is a newish building constructed like a prefab, the shower leaked all over bathroom, the sink plug didn't work, there was tea and coffee making in the room but no milk and... This hotel is recommended in the Rough Guide to France and before visiting this hotel I checked some reviews. One said that the hotel was undergoing a refurb and it was not a good idea to stay there. Because of this i e-mailed the hotel direct to be told that all refurbishments were complete apart from the reception area which... More

We stayed in a triple room (1 double bed + 1 single bed) and the room was very clean. The bathroom was newly renovated (shower, sink and toilet) and clean. The room was equiped with a tv and air conditionning. There was free parking and the breakfast was included (little buffet, all you can eat). The stay was really friendly... More

Very small room but kind of cute really. The bathroom is one of those pre-fab all-in-one assembled units which reminds one of a mobile home. At first the shower drain was slow and therefore the entire bathroom unit flooded, but the housekeeping took care of that and then it was fine. I had to put my stuff up on a... More
