Excellent location, right in the centre. We didn't hire a car and walking around La Rochelle is very convenient. Very clean apartment, even though its a studio not cramped at all for 4 people. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Great little cafe downstairs for breakfast. The pool was lovely at a constant temperature and with free sunbeds. We will... More

Stayed in "studio for 4" which was a small but well equipped apartement central in La Rochelle. Near the harbour and trainstation (2 mins walk to both), and 15 mins walk to main bus station. Double sofa bed in the main room and a bunk bed in a separate room. Small but modern kitchen with all you need, including refridgerator... More

We booked last minute and paid top rate. The room was the size of an average travelodge / motorway hotel, with a kitchenette wedged into the bedroom and 2 bunk beds in the small entrance lobby. Whilst it was clean and did have all the basic facilities, I don't think it was worth the "over 100GBP rack rate". The laundry... More

An excellent budget hotel, very friendly staff, clean and warm (we went in February). The kitchenette facilities are fine for holiday catering and the Maeva is very handy for all local shops and cafes. Only 100 mtrs from the station and 50 mtrs from the main quay. Overall excellent value.

We spent a week at Maeva. Initial welcome excellent.Room a little basic, but, depending on the price you pay...good value. One or two minor problems,ie.water not hot enough in evenings.....but problem quickly resolved. Check the pool is open.!!!! We were not told on booking that it was cleaning week. In fairness they gave us two nights free parking in lieu. Whilst on... More

I agreetotally with gazcam. M review would mirror his. Our room did have a bit of traffic noise first thing in the morning, though. Maybe another side would be quieter. La Rochelle is a lovely place for a few days. We spent 5 nights there. I would recommend, but read the reviews.

For a family of four travelling on a bit of a budget this was ideal accommodation for us. There were two single bunk beds in the hallway as you walk in, opposite the bathroom and then a queen size fold out sofa bed in the lounge area. A door between the lounge and the bunk beds gave a little bit... More

The Maeva is in a good, quiet location. It is no more than 5 minutes walk to the station and about 10-15 minutes along the harbour quayside from the centre of town. The Maeva is an apartment complex rather than a hotel although you can buy breakfast in the cafe beside reception. We did not have to pay extra for... More

Maybe this IS Ok for a hen weekend but be sure you know what you are booking. We arrived at reception,a charmingly efficient lady, and were asked whether we wanted towels. Why?.Because they are extra,8 euros per person. First time ever I have been asked to pay for towels in a hotel. Receptionist told us 'This is not a hotel' Same... More

I had the task of finding a cheap weekend away for 10 women (aged 23-58) for under £130 each so I was struggling a bit until I came across some cheap flights to La Rochelle. I found the hostel on Expedia, which was perfect as we could house all 10 guests easily within budget (we even managed to get 4... More
