An absolute gem! Not only due to its tranquil location and attentive staff, but equally a warm swimming pool, fabulous breakfast ( best croissants ever) and amazing settings where we had dinner on the terrace watching the sunset. Rooms are decorated tastefully and are practical in space. Even though we lifted the average age by 20 years we will definitely... More

My first return visit for some years. I'm so glad I stayed again. The management has changed but are equally friendly and helpful. The rooms have been upgraded and are of a high standard. I was so pleased to find that the restaurant has maintained its high standards and still offers very good value for money. Strongly recommended to all... More

When I first face the facade of the building I was disappointed as it had aged and didn't looked as white washed as in the pictures but I quickly succumbed to its charms and loved it. We've been staying in a series of hotels as we travel through France and this was my favorite. It was charming, it had free... More

The rooms are clean and comfortable, we had upgraded our room and had a large one for three people overlooking the valley (room 110). The food was very good although the service at dinner was sometimes a little slow.

We arrived late and without reservations. Fortunately, there were two rooms left. We took a charming room on the top floor. While the front desk was almost apologetic about size, the accommodations were fine for us. The room was nicely decorated and clean as can be. The 3rd floor view was spectacular at treetop level and with the window open,... More

You wouldn’t by a car with 3 wheels would you? You wouldn’t buy a book missing its last chapter or book a holiday where you know in advance that the last 3 days were going to be cancelled, it just wouldn’t make sense would it? Then why would you book a hotel that only operates 6 days a week? Lets... More

We arrived in Cognac about 1PM without a hotel room but our GPS gave us a listing of hotels, so the search began. Apparently the front desk closes until 3PM at some hotels so we struck out with the first two. Then we discovered Domaine du Breuil. A bit tired looking on the outside, but once you step inside, it's... More

We stayed on a Sunday night, which means no staff on duty and no restaurant open, which is a shame, as felt like a b&b in reverse. Clean, hot water and large rooms. Shabby chic. Good value, but did not have breakfast as ££££ for the venue. 15euro each way for a cab to town to eat adds to cost.

We booked 2 nights in this lovely hotel on our road trip. At first glance the outside appeared a bit run down but once we entered we were very happy. It was a lovely stay and the view from our room was beautiful. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our first night was a Saturday and we were able... More

We arrived at Domaine du Breuil after a long motorbike ride from Millaux, late in the afternoon. A little tricky to find but with a functioning SATNAV we got there safely. The hotel lies on one side on the edge of some housing on the fringe of Cognac and on the other on the edge of the extensive Martell vineyards,... More
