Luckily we stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the top floor-although this had a few issues-wobbly shower head, non existent wifi, and the usual plumbing problems(sink took ages to drain). However hats off to the owner who was very helpful and friendly-Apart from a cleaner I think he was running the hotel on his own. Be warned we... More

No heat until last minute. Wifi spotty to non-existent. Plumbing issues. Reception missing in action. Stressful. Front door locked at 2 in afternoon when I arrived. 2 hour wait to get in. Advise you stay anywhere but here.

This hotel had all you want in an overnight stop - comfortable bed, good bathroom and a very good breakfast. So it was easy to overlook the less good points - the carpet on the stairs was tatty (that on the walls was much better) and paint was flaking on the bathroom ceiling. The general decor, however, was charming. The... More

Family of four and a couple stayed here one night. Very friendly owner, Mathieu. Family room very spacious and bathroom clean. Paint flaking off ceiling in bathroom. carpet on stairs needs attention in places. Great breakfast. Right by the main square. Would definitely stay again. HH

A bit basic, but clean, comfy and very friendly, the perfect stopover. Good breakfast too - continental, of course. Mathieu is a very helpful host, answering all our questions and vacating his parking spot so we could leave our old(ish) MG safely in the nearby courtyard. Good value for money.

Chosen as a stopover when travelling back to Calais from the South. What a find! I can only echo what is in many of the other reviews. Mattieu was welcoming, friendly and charming - telling us some of the hotel's history which is fascinating. The sympathetic refurbishments seem to breathe new life into the building. Our room and another we... More

One night stay in Laon. We were very impressed by the city and the hotel - service was excellent - great nights sleep! What a great building, which is the process of some refurbishment, but at the price this was a very good value stay. We had food at The Agora - sensible price for house wine and food -... More

Stayed for a night on return from Italy. The hotel was closed when we arrived but we had been told it opened at 4pm. It looks rather shabby from outside and the front needs some attention. Parked our car in the tiny car park next to the hotel. The owner was very helpful and friendly and we had a renovated... More

This is a simple but delightful hotel in the beautiful and historic city of Leon. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast. The proprietor, Mattieu, is charming and helpful. The city sites, including the marvellous cathedral, are all within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

Be sure to check you stay in the renovated rooms' we stayed on two seperate occasions during July 13' the first in the renovated rooms upstairs I would rate as excellent but omg! The un-renovated rooms where we ended up on the second visit are truly horrible! However the chap the chap that owns it recognised this by apologising with... More
