We had a lovely stay in the chateau - large comfortable rooms and very friendly service - Mary & Connor couldn't have been more helpful - gave us information on where to visit and where the best wine tasting was - it is about a 30 min walk into the centre of Saumur which we were all ok with but... We stayed 2 nights here enroute from Calais to the Dordogne. It was a very lovely place and our suite was perfect for us as a family of 4. The kids had their own room off ours and this worked for the nights we were there. Breakfast was great sitting enmasse round a big table with the other guests and... More

When you meet such good hosts. Very warm and friendly welcome, most engaging, true Irish hospitality. Lovely home, full of history with refined atmosphere. Breakfast is another experience, shared with other guests, under the perfect supervision of Mary and Monique. Lovely visit, thank you Mary, Connor and Monique

We booked this for a family break and upon arrival we informed the owners we would be staying 4 nights instead of 5 due to a change in ferry times We were told we would have to pay the full amount for the full 5 days regardless of how long we stayed. It was a great deal of hassle to... More

Dear David, I am disappointed to hear you say that we were unhelpful. This is generally not the case. Both my staff and I work very hard to make all our guests feel at home and to make their visit enjoyable (as is evident from many previous reviews on Trip Advisor and our Certificate of Excellence 2014). In fact, you... More

The deco was what you would see in home decoration magazine - beautiful furnitures and display. It was what you would expect in a stately home. The hostess was an Irish lady and as with most Irish, she was exceptionally friendly and engaging. She helped us ring an Abbey to find out the time of mass. The room we stayed... More

After a hectic (but wonderful) week in Paris coming to Chateau de Beaulieu was exactly want we needed! We were greeted by the owners, Mary and Connor, then promptly invited to join them and a few other guests for a glass of champagne. We felt pampered and able to relax while Mary and Connor helped with recommendations and reservations. Our... More

Cant say enough about this place. A true highlight of our French getaway. Mary and Connor are brilliant hosts. Monique (assistant extraordinaire) is a graceful 'pocket rocket' of attention and care. The chateau is an elegant property full of stylish furniture. Breakfasts around the large dinner table are a highlight, plenty of food and drink. Bedroom and bathroom spacious and... More

Irish-run with lots of charm. Just outside Saumur, easy to find with lots of parking. Mary is very hospitable despite minor quibbles with "heated" pool (otherwise delightfully relaxing) & variable internet (quickly remedied). Generous breakfast & stylish bedrooms. Elegant reception rooms.

We – a party of five - got to Chateau de Beaulieu in Saumur by a happy accident: instead of booking us near Tours, the travel agency booked us in Saumur. So, we were a bit apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. Well, we got a warm welcome, with sparkling wine and snacks, charming rooms – ours was decorated in... More
