We had a wonderful night staying in the gypsy wagon that is located toward the back and side of the property, set amongst an orchard. We stayed with our two children (10 and 7) who absolutely LOVED the wagon. It was very cosy but also rather spacious, which was unexpected. Well appointed and so quiet. There was lots of room... We found ourselves in Saumur looking for a specific vineyard. The Logis Le Chai de la Paleine is in a really small village, with just a bakery, tourist information office, 2 restaurants and a small bar. The hotel is beautiful. It is set in its' own land, and offers night gazing huts, small out buildings, trampoline, balls and racquets but... More

This is a great little hotel. Our room was upstairs and there were opportunities to buy wine in an adjacent room. There were tea making facilities. The shower room was spacious. Breakfast was good with choice of fruit and yogurt as well as French bread and pastries. The surrounding grounds are very nice and it is situated in a quiet village with... More

Stayed here for one night travelling from the south. Got a very warm welcome from the host who advised us on where to visit and where to eat. Lovely bedroom with beams in the ceiling. Wine and drinks available to buy from the kitchen if needed. Breakfast was very good and served by our friendly host. Had a very relaxing... More

This hotel, which is a converted winery, is outstanding, We stayed here for a week during August 2014. Our traditional room was stylishly furnished and provided a modern bathroom and a small kitchen with fridge, sink, microwave and hob. The latter was very useful and enabled us to eat outside in the orchard or at the dining table in our... More

We greatly enjoyed our stay here as an extended family. The children loved the play area and the animals. We were warmly welcomed and the rooms were fine for our short stay. The breakfast repaired us well for our journey to Bergerac. We appreciated the owner's assistance on local eating places and on the mushroom caves which are worth a... More

What a glorious place, off the beaten track but well worth finding, part of Logis hotels A beautifully restored conversion tastefully done. Our room was one of the largest we have stayed in, fully air conditioned, with an original beam running through the room it was attractive and did not detract from the space available, the room featured a very... A truly unique place for a stay in the Loire valley. Philippe and Caroline have created a peaceful friendly and welcoming environment in a wonderful old building in a lovely setting. We always look forward to visiting.

When my family and I arrived here, we were greeted with a beautiful garden, and a beautiful couple of buildings. We met the owner, Philip, who was charming, helpful and friendly. There was an abundance of features, a trampoline, table tennis, table football, a kitchen and a communal sitting room. The room was spacious and included a kitchen and very... More

We stayed at the chai for one night while traveling through Loire valley with our 3 daughters aged 6,5 and 3 in the summer of 2013. We have arrived on a rainy evening and were settled by the hosts in a simple but nice family room. The girls had a separate room which was convenient. The property is very large... More
