We booked to stay in this hotel for one night in 11th December 2014. We were travelling from Calais to SW France and wanted to stop overnight at what looked to be a nice hotel. Unfortunately our ferry Dover - Calais was delayed due to bad weather, so we didn't arrive in Calais until 3pm. Our GPS showed 9.30pm as... More

The owner was quite accommodating; the rooms were nice; the surrounding area lovely ... all in all, a very enjoyabe experience. Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy in the yard ... and walk around to see the animals, fruit trees ... and enjy the trampoline

We were a couple travelling with a 2 year old and it was a wonderful place to stay. It had a large safety netted trampoline, a sandbox with a few toys, and lots of green space for running around. Lovely room, nice breakfast...we were very comfortable during our 2 nights.

Rather like a Russian doll, this charming hotel is surrounded by its own extensive grounds which in turn are an integral part of the sleepy town (or is it a village?) of Le Puy Notre Dame. Everything is totally integrated and within 24 hours I felt I was part of this rural community with its 2 restaurants and welcoming bar.... More

We had a wonderful night staying in the gypsy wagon that is located toward the back and side of the property, set amongst an orchard. We stayed with our two children (10 and 7) who absolutely LOVED the wagon. It was very cosy but also rather spacious, which was unexpected. Well appointed and so quiet. There was lots of room... We found ourselves in Saumur looking for a specific vineyard. The Logis Le Chai de la Paleine is in a really small village, with just a bakery, tourist information office, 2 restaurants and a small bar. The hotel is beautiful. It is set in its' own land, and offers night gazing huts, small out buildings, trampoline, balls and racquets but... More

This is a great little hotel. Our room was upstairs and there were opportunities to buy wine in an adjacent room. There were tea making facilities. The shower room was spacious. Breakfast was good with choice of fruit and yogurt as well as French bread and pastries. The surrounding grounds are very nice and it is situated in a quiet village with... More

Stayed here for one night travelling from the south. Got a very warm welcome from the host who advised us on where to visit and where to eat. Lovely bedroom with beams in the ceiling. Wine and drinks available to buy from the kitchen if needed. Breakfast was very good and served by our friendly host. Had a very relaxing... More

This hotel, which is a converted winery, is outstanding, We stayed here for a week during August 2014. Our traditional room was stylishly furnished and provided a modern bathroom and a small kitchen with fridge, sink, microwave and hob. The latter was very useful and enabled us to eat outside in the orchard or at the dining table in our... More

We greatly enjoyed our stay here as an extended family. The children loved the play area and the animals. We were warmly welcomed and the rooms were fine for our short stay. The breakfast repaired us well for our journey to Bergerac. We appreciated the owner's assistance on local eating places and on the mushroom caves which are worth a... More
