We have stayed at a few hotels in the area and this was our first visit . We shall definitely return . This is a real find . The owner has made many special little touches . The fabrics and furnishings are of the highest standard . The breakfast is a real joy . The hotel has a cosy little... More

Stayed as part of corporate group and thoroughly enjoyed it. Warm & very friendly welcome from the owner who saw us all settled. Normally, parking is off-site so we handed over our car keys but, in fact, we were able to leave our cars right outside the hotel. Hotel is centrally situated so easy access to everywhere. There is no... More

We stayed here last night as a stop-over, arriving after 8pm. We were given a warm welcome, our car was parked, and 3 restaurant recommendations (le Grand Bleu is a great fish restaurant, but book as is popular). Our room ("Joop", first floor front), as with the rest of this old stone and timber building has been tastefully restored, and... More

We arrived very tired after a long drive from London in pouring rain so it was lovely to find such a welcoming hotel. The room was lovely, very comfortable and a bit quirky. We had a dog with us and he too was made welcome. After a great nights sleep we were ready for breakfast and what a breakfast! Beautifully... More

Very good hotel although parking could possibly be a problem in high season. What a breakfast they put on. Nobody, I'm sure, could have eaten it all, and what a great selection of dishes. A warm reception and a warm hotel, just what you need after a long drive through the rain and wind.

again a very pleasant time in Saumur. We visited here five years ago and were very happy with the accomodations. The manager remains and is most helpful again. This is a real gem. The free parking next to the hotel is a nice feature.

In the heart of the old town close to the chateau, it doesn't have a river views but is in good central position. No restaurant but within stumbling distance of several good places to eat. The hotel itself is charming, very comfortable and well appointed. We arrived tired and jet lagged from a flight home from the US. Perfect, loads... More

Ours was a last minute booking, so the choice of rooms was quite limited. However, even though our room was probably one of the smallest double rooms, it was beautifully furnished and very comfortable, and a lot less expensive than other larger rooms. The hotel is situated near the chateau, just by the Church, and has free private parking around... More

Regis and Bridgett, the owners, welcomed our group of 5, brought up our bags and even parked our car. We loved having 3 rooms there for 2 nights Breakfast was yogurt, cereal, croissants, marmelade, fresh orange juice and great coffee...all at a reasonable price plus a view of the courtyard.

After traveling through the Loire Valley on our way to Normandy, we stayed the night in Saumur. We arrived late - around 9:00. The owner met us and immediately helped us get to our room, took our car for parking and recommended a restaurant in the small square for dining. The hotel was built privately owned for 22 years. They... More
