A very nice hotel and perfectly situated for a visit to the the château and other sights. A lovely room overlooking the river Loire. A choice of private secure parking or plenty of free off road parking opposite the hotel. The room was comfortable and the breakfast good if a little limited. This is a lovely old lady of a hotel on the river's edge. For someone from Australia having a castle view bang smack outside your bedroom window is a real trreat. Nice courtyard to enjoy. The night we stayed there was a contingent of [British] Alvis owner's club staying. I guess that is a recommendation in itself for I am sure classic car clubs form a network. We had a large room in the courtyard, which was great and very quiet. The only problem was the pitch black nature at night -- no light pollution... more

We booked two nights in Saumur to break up our journey to the Dordogne. Anne d'Anjou came out well on Tripadvisor so it seemed a natural choice. Stayed here in April, 2006. Location was great, the room was lovely and the staff was great. The only issue was that the room had not been prepared for two people and so linens and supplies had to be sent up. more

We paid a little more for a huge room at the front overlooking the Loire but the cheaper rooms at the back had a very nice courtyard view and I'm sure they'd be fine. It was really hot while we were there and the fan in the room helped but we had the windows open and there was traffic noise... more

What an absolute delight. From the time of checking in to departure we were very well looked after. Unfortunately we did not have time to try the restaurant but the breakfast was very good. Myself and my two sons stayed at this hotel on a stopover to a wedding in Fontevraud. The room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. Very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and hospitable. Would definitely stay here again. Due to the lateness of our arrival both times we did not have a chance to eat at the restaurant.... more
