The second time we have stayed in this truly elegant hotel. It is an 18th century historic house, turned into an hotel with sensitivity and a truly artistic hand. The bedrooms we have stayed in, one on the 2nd floor with delightful trompe l'oeil fresco, and a luxurious one on the 1st floor, made me want to wear something truly... More

The hotel is situated next to the Loire, it has a beautifull and very convenient location, the building on the outside and the public areas are very beautifull and nicely restored in their old pride. Although the rooms we slept in where very disepointing. The first room on the first floor was small and very out dated with a huge... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour with Odyssey Unlimited. All of the rooms at this hotel are unique. We stayed in a room that had original relief art on the walls. Everyone on our tour wanted to visit our room. The hotel is in the shadow of the historic Castle of Saumur. Great location next to... More

The hotel is set in a private mansion built in the 18th century, classified historical monument. It is located on the Loire river banks, at walking distance to the historic center and beneath the Castle of Saumur. It is a place with lot of personality, joining together original historical substance (to note the magnificent staircase crowned by a trompe-l'œil celling,... More

Booked a one-night stay on a great special offer rate on route back to UK. Hotel is in a beautiful building dated 1718 with a beautiful 18C Staircase and loads of original features. Rooms are spacious with the option of large period rooms available. Situated very close to the centre, so convenient for getting around. Overlooks the Loire river to... More

The only real positive for me was that I could walk all over town. Other than that, the hotel is very old. It was warm when I was there and no air conditioning. When the windows were open at night the bugs would come in so the only way to cool the room down was to turn off all of... More

Our hotel is a mansion house from the XVIII century, classified as "Historical monument" . With this historical character, we are not allowed to set any system who could transform the site and the view ( as air conditionning). Your room did not seem to suit you both the view on the river and a problem with a light in... More

Absolutely Fantastic! We did stay one night. It is an excellent property; you can even see the Chateau of Saumur from the gardens. The icon of the property a marble, wrought iron and bronze staircase is absolutely FABULOUS !!! The room was large and overlooked the La Loire river.

An Internet booking with a deal of luck, we saw the photos and thought it was worth a dabble with the prospect of a view of the chateau at Saumur. We were not disappointed in bucket loads, we had the choice of a river or Chateau view, guess what we chose? The chateau!! Old world charm in a hotel that... More

This hotel is in a great position overlooking the Loire and beneath the beautiful chateau. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is private parking at €12 per night. The breakfast is average and buffet style in a very dreary breakfast room. Make sure you get a front room if you want views of the river-! Room 112 is... More

We stayed here for two nights in September while visiting the chateaus of the Loire Valley, booking rather late. On arrival we were offered a choice of three rooms as we weren't too keen on the first one we were shown to, but we ended up taking it as it was the largest and brightest, and being on the 3rd...
