I love this hotel, I have seldom had a warmer welcome than here. I love the atmosphere and the rooms. The hotel gave us some good advice about where to eat (Le Grand Bleu), which was great. Spend some time at the hotel itself, the library is recommended. More

Our tour organiser selected this hotel for us so we had no say in the choice. It is in a super spot on the Loire with the chateau looming behind. We had a courtyard room which was very clean but like a lot of these old buildings hard to modernise. The bathrooms had been and were modern, well fitted and... More

Perfect location for visiting the "Loire chateaux" and surrounding area. Request a courtyard room facing the chateau for the view and quiet. Breakfast good. Great choice of restaurants in town, a short stroll from the hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Safe car parking in the courtyard. More

Lovely common areas and very nice staff, however, 130 euros for a room with only two celling windows and no AC seems pretty poor. More

Family room 407 was huge and charming. The staff were wonderful. The location was perfect with a courtyard, with seating area, which looked up to the chateau - a perfect end to the day with a glass of wine! The hotel itself was very grand inside with lovely furniture and staircase. Will definitely stay here again - couldn't believe it... More

It's the location that makes this hotel. To ensure quiet, ask for a courtyard room (faces the chateau) rather than facing the Loire, since the road runs that side - being a historic building there is no double-glazing or air conditioning. Hotel is few minutes walk from centre of the old town, with great choice of restaurants and bars at... More

We booked via Bookings.com very easy and very good value. Overall the service and staff were excellent. We had to work on one day and the hotel staff were very accomodating. The rooms are basic but big enough and value as we paid 66 euro per night. The breakfast was good and you can eat as much as you like... More

A nice old hotel in the Loire. Great location to tour the Loire Valley, return and have nice dinner in the hotel restaurant or one of the restaurants in Saumer. However - a "view of the river" also means you are over the main street along the river - so beware the noise. And as this hotel, as do many... More

A very nice hotel and perfectly situated for a visit to the the château and other sights. A lovely room overlooking the river Loire. A choice of private secure parking or plenty of free off road parking opposite the hotel. The room was comfortable and the breakfast good if a little limited. Friendly staff with enough English to get by.... More

This is a lovely old lady of a hotel on the river's edge. For someone from Australia having a castle view bang smack outside your bedroom window is a real trreat. Nice courtyard to enjoy. Its also worth not using the elevator and using the 300 years old stairwell. Lovely big rooms, comfortable bed and a good base to try... More
