This is a small and rather old hotel situated close to the old town of Nantes. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the hotel itself,while it could do with some renovation was atmospheric and clean. I arrived in Nantes by car one evening without a hotel reservation and after driving around the city decided I wanted to stay near the castle. Most of the more modern-looking hotels had signs saying "complet" on their doors, and I pulled in front of this one and went in and there was a room available for about 65 Euros....

The hotel is decorated in drab colours and it seems they took a decision years ago not to spend any money on it, so while everything was fully functional, many small things just seemed old.
