On entering this hotel you are struck by the design and décor of this beautiful converted chapel, the wow factor hits you straight away. You are met by the lovely Reception team who are friendly and very engaging helping you with all you wish to know about the surrounding tourist spots and restaurants. Our room was just perfect, cleaned every... More

You can tell from the attention to detail that permeates this 5-star luxury boutique hotel at 3 star price in Nantes that this is a work of love and passion from an independent owner who left behind the corporate world to live his dream. No expenses were spared in the renovation of this chapel of a century-old nun convent, with... More

We enjoyed staying at the Hotel Sozo. The room was very nice and big enough for 2. All services were outstanding. The proximity of the botanical garden, the train station and the tram is great and also it is no big problem walking back and forth to downtown. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Being able to rent a... More

This former chapel within walking distance of the train station and the tram, and directly across the street from the beautiful Jardin des Plantes, was a delight. Small room with everything you need plus soaring ceilings and a stained glass window. It was quiet, great bed and linens, and comfortable. The combination of very contemporary and 19th Century was great.... More

The converted Church has not been lost in the refurbishment of the site that created Hotel Sozo. We enjoyed our overnight stay, and the proximity to the botanical gardens is a plus. Friendly staff and, rarely in France, air conditioned, which helped as were there during a heat wave.

With such an amazing transformation from a semi-derelict chapel into a light, bright, interesting hotel, my normal rating would have been very good. There were 4 of us and we booked 2 of the better i.e. more expensive rooms and had a "deal"...i.e. 180 euros no cancellation and no breakfast. (The breakfast costs 17 euros each The public rooms are... More

We were a group of 3 staying there for business. The rooms are slightly too small, but the entrance is great. It's clean , the breakfast great and very fresh. We enjoyed the stay . From my perspective the rooms could have been slightly bigger and more functional. The remaining church elements in the rooms as great. The showers are... More

We spent a weekend at Hotel Sozo and used it as a base to explore Nantes. The hotel is a converted church and has retained many of the original features whilst creating a contemporary modern feel for this boutique hotel. Think Bauhaus meets Gothic...but it works rather well! Our room was a strange shape and not generous in size, though... More

My husband and I enjoyed our four night stay at the beautiful Hotel Sozo. Situated in and old church, it has all the charm of old with contemporary decor. The rooms are small but cleverly designed and we managed to fit in. We loved the decor and beautiful simplicity of the design and the color coordinated amenities. The staff is... More

This relatively new hotel was a pleasure to stay at. we had a very pleasant welcome and were shown all the facilities both common and particular to our room. The location was very quiet and very handy for the Superb Botanical gardens across the road. Our room was well equipped and the bed was super comfy. Well worth a stay.
