The first thing you notice when you step down - a sloping ramp takes you down to reception - in La Pérouse hotel is the design. Every clever detail, every architectural quirkiness screams 1990s. The bedroom struck me as "style over substance" a bit, with a glass wardrobe, no shutters but padded covers on the windows and a soft greenish... More

Good hotel in a convenient location. Well serviced by tram and bus. Rooms are comfortable and clean. breakfast selection is good and fresh. Reception very helpful (can also supply tram tickets if needed). Internet extremely unreliable and when available, extremely slow! If you need to work at night, this may be an issue.

A nice stay: very attentive staff, flexible hours, copious and tasty breakfast & overall interesting interior design. Centrally located, close to the old town and tramway lines. Comfortable bedrooms (although some of the "design furniture" are better to look at than to actually use them. :-)

Hotel la Perouse room 702 top floor facing away from the main road. The quirky glass sink does not drain and water pools either side of the drain outlet. Bedroom and bathroom were the biggest I had seen so far during our month long stay in France Parking station across the road was convenient. Padded covers over the windows. Would... More

Remarkable "design" hotel, starting with the art in the lobby welcoming you. Reception is efficient, friendly and helpful. Rooms look rather cheap despite designer flair. Lighting provides a cold atmosphere. No curtains, but flaps strangely fixed to the window frames. Beds are basic with not so comfortable matrasses and plain blankets. Shower floods the bath room. The shower head was... More

Thank for your comment. I'm glad you appreciated the design, the art exhibition displayed in the lobby and the work of receptionnists. Room decoration is minimalist in coherence with the all spirit of teh building. Furnitures has been choosen from big names of international designers : G. Rietveld, E. Gray, M. Bellini. We have checked all the shower heads. And... More

I stayed at this hotel on 07/08 December 2013. The hotel is very centrally located in a largely pedestrianised area. There is a tram stop right outside. The taxi from the station was under €10 and the driver used an entry pass to lower a barrier and drop us on the pavement right outside the door! The reception is airy... More

I stayed here over the weekend 7/8 December with my wife, and we had some friends also staying in the hotel. We loved the quirky "art" installations in reception and thought they really caught the eye on entry and set some expectations for the equally interesting rooms. The front of house staff (and indeed all the staff we encountered) were... More

Thank you for your comment. We are happy you liked the decoration and furnitures. We have chosen to follow the spirit of the building conception minimalist but warm. Curtains are "bizarre" indeed designed like boat cover in coherence with the Nantes naval industry as well as other things in teh hotel. Breakfast is less expensive if you book it when... More

There is a lot that is good about this hotel, but also a few major things that drag it down. Maybe I'll start with location - excellent! You can access everything easily from its central location. There is a major tram stop outside that can take you north or south, and you aren't far away from the east-west intersection, which... More

Great location. Accessible by taxi, bus and tram - and on foot. Busy area but it IS a city. Breakfast ok, rooms simple and functional. I won't comment on the "art" in the foyer... Would stay here again...

My family and I had 1 night in Nantes and were thrilled to have this centrally located super modern recommended hotel. In fact. the location for our walking around the city was perfect and we were very impresses with the city overall. For the hotel, the staff was super friendly at check in and helped with maps and ideas... The... More
