Stayed for three nights in June whilst attending a family wedding in the next village. We were recommended to stay at this hotel although the hotel’s website rather alarmed us – like stepping back in time!
In reality the hotel was better than we feared. We stayed in a newly renovated room (Room 1) at a cost of €50 plus €6.50 per person for continental breakfast. Although the room was very small and not decorated to modern taste it was spotlessly clean with a bright new bathroom and more than adequate for our needs. It was fairly warm when we stayed, there was no air conditioning but there was a fan in the room. If you left the windows open you were treated to the church bells every hour through the nigh and quite heavy traffic noise on weekday mornings.
Breakfast was adequate, although the service on the Sunday was very hit and miss (the hotel had catered for the wedding late into the previous night so I suppose this could be excused). On the whole the staff...
