After reading other reviews of the hotel, I expected a straight-forward budget hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised- It is a really, really nice hotel! It is located right across the road from the bus and train stations, has a 24-hour reception and the staff are extremely pleasant and speak some English. We booked this hotel through the tourism office in Angers as it was part of a bike hire package (which is a great way to see the place) The staff were very friendly and helpful. Their English was good although they liked it when we tried out our French. The rooms and bathrooms are small which is typical for France... More

I was put off by some negative reviews online but the hotel was great. It's opposite the train station on a busy road but the double glazing is great - no noise problems. The rooms were nice if fairly small (although nothing by Paris or London standards of smallness) and spotless. The bathrooms seem to have been relatively newly renovated... More
