We had one night here in Le Mans earlier this month. We found it eventually, tucked away on the corner of the road. Parking wasn't a problem in the street outside, but our lovely hosts opened up the gates and allowed us to park just in the courtyard. We were quite taken aback by the house. It was just so... More

We stayed for 2 nights in May of 2014, and were very pleased with this lovely property and our hosts. It took us about 20 minutes walking from the train station, but once we stepped inside the nondescript outer door into the courtyard and home, we knew we were in the perfect place. The hosts were incredibly helpful, providing us... More

Beautifully appointed bedroom and bathroom, very welcoming hosts, easy parking, walking distance of the Plantagenet town. Our hosts did all they could to help with maps and advice (and tolerated our attempts at French, even though both Bernard and Christine speak English). It is a genuine pleasure to recommend Le Clos D'Hauteville. Honestly, why stay in a chain hotel when... More

My sons and I visited France two weeks ago with our first stop in Le Mans. I wanted our experience to be special, which was one of the reasons we chose to stay at Le Clos d'Hautville. We were welcomed with open arms. Bernard and Christiane made us feel like family. The rooms were charmingly well appointed and very large... More

Well, I think this review of mine is really due! More than two years ago, in August 2011, I contacted Bernard and Christiane as I was looking for a room for a few weeks as I was working in Le Mans for a project that was requiring my presence for a few months. The project ended up in enduring for... More

A last-minute itinerary change found me researching places to stay in Le Mans, and Bernard and Christiane happened to have a room available for the one night we needed - and the stay, however short, was utterly charming. Even though we were perfect strangers blustering through the door, we felt so very welcomed and at home - everything is remarkably... More

I suspect our encounter with this delightful establishment is somewhat typical for the time of year: we were travelling south and wanted a first night stopover around 200 miles from Calais ... in many ways a shame, as this place is worth a much more extended stay (and the same applies to Le Mans). The essentials - comfort, cleanliness, hospitality... More

We stayed here for one night on our way from Calais to The Charente Maritime. I had read the trip advisor reviews and I was not disappointed. Bernard and Christiane are absolutely delightful, very warm and welcoming. We had three rooms and they were all perfect, decorated with beautiful French styling, they have a gorgeous home. There was also parking,... More

We stayed here for one night with our baby. It was perfect. The room was very large so our travel cot was a good distance away from our bed. Modern and clean and a great central location. Secure parking. Good breakfast. Very accommodating and helpful owners. Would definitely recommend.

Bernard and Christiane are naturally gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home. Our room was spacious and well-appointed with lovely linens and a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious with plenty of hot coffee and a variety of breads, pastries, yogurt and cereals. Christiane even rescued our vacation by finding us rental bikes... More
