Excellent and classy hotel located steps to the main beach in La Baule, Castel Marie-Louise is infinitely more intimate and comfortable than the larger nearby luxury hotels. Food and service are excellent. Bicycles are available free of charge - biking being an excellent idea in and around La Baule and nearby Guerande. We stayed here for one night but wished we had longer. Located just across the street from the sea it was a lovely location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a free treatment at their thalassotherapy centre next door. We stayed here in mid September on a weekend in order to attend a wedding. Staff were very professional and truly kind, hotel is lovely and beautifully kept. Our least expensive room in the house ( US$300 plus) was on the top floor with a nice view of the pine trees on one side and vacation homes at the rear.... more
