The room we stayed in is not located in hotel building, but across the street, in an old building. It is on first floor ( no elevator ) facing a square. Room is completely new, spacious and comfortable. There is a couch, a queen bed, separate toilet, flat screen TV, and spacious walk-inn shower. Efficient blackout curtains. There is no... More

Hotel des Carmes has a great location in Rouen. It is very central in the tourist part of the town, located on a pedestrian street near a square. So the location is sort of charming as well as the feel of the hotel, it has an old French feel to it. Cleanliness was OK, it didn't feel unclean it is... More

I stayed here for four days in September and really felt the hotel was extremely shabby and worse, not very clean. The beds were clearly very old, they certainly smelt that were and were sagging in the middle. The carpet in both the bedroom and the bathroom (eek) were extremely old and stained, you definitely would not want to go... More

We spent 2 nights in the Hotel Des Carmes in Rouen during September and can only describe our stay as a sleepless miserable existence for 48 hours. First of all, we arrived around noon and went straight to check in so we could drop off our luggage and do some sight-seeing. At no point were we ever informed that you... More

Spent a night with family in two triple rooms. Great service -just remember to phone if arriving past 8pm. We were lucky and found a parking spot right in front of the hotel, otherwise you have to walk three blocks to the hotel de ville parking garage, which is nice because you go through beautiful streets and then find the... This hotel is laid back and definitely a two star. Its a bit run down, but its clean and the bathrooms are nice. The location is fantastic. Its hard to get to by car, but its really fun to drive around the old medieval streets of Rouen. Its in the old section of town, with very little parking around the... More

Just one caveat...don't arrive between noon and 4:00 p.m. because no one is there to check you in and you'll have to wait....That being said we waited at the bar on the Place des Carmes and had a great time... This place is a find! Get ready for charming, rustic, and rough around the edges (in a good way). The... More

We arrived by train to Rouen, and walked to the hotel in about 15-20mins. The hotel has lovely charming rooms, and we had a large modern bathroom. The hotel in great for walking around Rouen, there are a wealth of shops, restaurants and attractions around. Strongly recommend trad french restaurant one street north on the corner above a pharmacy (entrance... More

Located in the heart of the old city. Right besides the cathedrals and all major monuments. We spent a night there during our trip in France and it was great. Very clean, nice little breakfast, friendly management staff. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very convenient parking at the Hotel de Ville. Only costs 5Euros per night if you get... More
