I've seen previous reviews where people complain about the lack of service. This is a two star hotel run by a husband and wife (along with a hired maid) and they do a pretty good job. The building is a converted 17th century post office so expect a long winding staircase and creaky wood floors. The owner works the desk... more

Lovely character hotel. Rooms were clean, and full of charm. Breakfast was good. Man on reception (guess was owner) freindly - used to live in London and speaks good English (much better than my French). Parking was OK, but can see it could be difficult. more

"We are only two star," said the manager. "If you wanted something nice you should have booked better!" In fact, our party of two couples for 2 double rooms did NOTend up staying at the Morand, although we still had to pay. It was THAT BAD! The place is hard to find at the far side of Rouen. Graffiti on... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Morand for just one night but wished we had stayed longer. The place was in a great location (quick walk to all the attractions), and everything was more then we'd hoped for. The host was incredibly nice and helpful, spoke perfect English, and the room was so charming it made us smile. Rooms... more

We stayed here for one night on our way back from the south to Boulogne for the ferry. An amazing little place, quirky with so much character. If you like 5 star europop kind of hotels then this place isn't for you, if you want a feel of France in a good location then it certainly is. Our room was... more

We were driving from Paris. With viamichelin.com directions in hand we were able to find this hotel with little trouble. It is not far off Blvd Jeanne D'Arc main drive. We parked on the narrow street which required payment only during the day. As we arrived late and left early it cost us nothing. I asked about security and whether... more

We booked the Hotel Morand purely on the criteria of having nearby parking at a 'special rate'. Yes, there is car parking but there is no special rate, it cost us €10.50 as per the tariff prices. Furthermore the gentleman at the front-desk repeatedly lied to us insisting that you got a stamp on the ticket and took it to... more

I recently stayed at this hotel alone with my two children. After checking in, I was told our room was up a few flights of stairs and that there was no elevator. I asked how I could get up my quite large suitcase and was told that was basically my problem. Fortunately, the next day, two very gallant elderly Frenchman... more

A small hotel, in a quiet street right behind the main street in Rouen, the Morand is run by a friendly guy who goes out of his way to help - and speaks excellent English! Rooms are small and simple, but perfect for a short break. more

We certainly enjoyed our recent stay here. The owner is courteous (he speaks very good english), and the hotel represents excellent value for money. Although there is a discreet, ongoing program of renovation taking place, our room was comfortable and together with all the communal areas, both well presented and full of character. The breakfast is generous and the location... more
