This was a fun quirky hotel in the center of old town in Rouen. Good location for seeing the sites and reasonably priced. Usual breakfast (bread, jam, juice and coffee) included with the room. Nice courtyard entrance, lobby a little dark, but pleasant. Rooms are a littly quirky, but adequate. Staff was pleasant and helpful...even though the bar and restaurant... More

We went for the budget end of the market and were pleasantly surprised. Le Vieux Carre was actually better than we thought it might be based on the reviews we'd read! It's difficult to find initially as it's set back between the shops, but is very central for sight-seeing. The Hotel itself is very pretty from the outside and is... More

Be advised that you most likely will not be able to drive to this hotel to drop off or pick up your luggage. Most of the time the street is closed to vehicles. It is quite close to a large municipal underground garage but finding the entrance to it and finding your way from the garage to the hotel is... More

Dark, dingy and very tired place. Surly reception from a young and disinterested man. Long climb up narrow and dirty stairs to an awful attic room (no 33) with worn and dirty carpets and no proper curtains, bath towels the size of large face flannels and no bath mat. Breakfast not included in price but a much cheaper (and probably... More

This Hotel is in a great location in Rouen. Right near the art museum, Notre Dame cathedral and 15 minute walk from the train station. The rooms are very small and very basic - small european washrooms. It has very few rooms 14 in all which adds to its charm. The reastaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. They have breakfast... Stayed here several years ago and really enjoyed its warmth and good service so we were pleased to see the important things about it hadn't changed. The hotel, which is very convenient for the old town, is situated in a semi-pedestrianized street and is tucked away through a gated entrance into a small shaded courtyard seating area. Its ground floor... More

After a long, hard rip through Spain and Andorra on my motorcycle, my friend and I stopped here for a night. The room was cozy and clean, the bar busy with friendly locals and the beer cold. What more can I say? I like simple pleasures and this place was fine.

My husband and I decided to go and visit Rouen, with our little baby. 1 night, not even 24 hours, so no need to say this was a very quick stay and we really wanted to enjoy 100% Although the city was wonderful, this will remain in our minds a real nightmare After the check in, we had to climb... I loved this hotel tucked away in the pedestrian shopping area of the city. We were travelling back to England with our daughter who had just spent a year at a French University. The hotel was recommended to her by a French frend. The rooms are not light and airy but make up for that by an eclectic and very... More

I have just come back from a visit to Normandy and had the good luck to find Le Vieux Carre quite by chance. It is charming and the welcome we had could not have been warmer, nor the staff friendlier. Because we had the car, the patronne took great pains to direct us to the cheaper car park, then, discovering... More
