Best Western Hotel du Vieux Marché in Rouen is a very comfortable stay, especially for this solo traveler, as there is nice public space around the lobby, so one doesn't need to confine themselves to their room. Free Internet in the lobby was a great plus for me. I also appreciated the free apples available in the lobby. As far... More

This hotel is at the heart of old Rouen. Our GPS (and a hotel sign) delivered us to the entry to a pedestrian lane blocked by a pop up post. We called the police on the intercom who dropped the post and we were admitted into the heart of the old town. Our car was big and the road was... More

To explore the historical center of Rouen, this hotel has the best location ever. You're just a 1 min walk away from the small market place, which is surrounded with lots of restaurants and bars. (If you like Latin music, you should visit the Cuba Libra bar !) The room was small and painted in dark colors but, who stays... More

You can not get more central than this. The rooms are a bit small and the lighting is a bit dark. Clean and nice atmosphere though. Parking is a bit of a challenge as the yard is narrow. Nothing fancy if you want a room with some space then this is not your choice. Want a room close to the... More

Can't beat this hotel's location in a semi-pedestrian area of central Rouen: close to all sights and with a huge number of restaurants nearby, including La Couronne, the oldest inn still in operation since its establishment in 1345... The hotel's staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is true that the rooms are smallish and somewhat darkish, but what should... More

The hotel is very Central, close to many resturants, the Cathedral and St.Joan of Arc Church. As the furnishings were in dark wood it made the rooms dark. The bedroom was also dark, walls painted grey and with the poor lighting could not read in the room. Breakfast was OK had the usual rolls ,jams, cheese etc. Plenty of eating places nearby... More

Excellent location for exploring Rouen city. Staff very pleasant. Breakfasts pretty good - fresh fruit in the fruit salad for example. Have never anywhere before encountered rooms so dark and gloomy - sort of dark brown colour with purple woodwork and not helped by feeble low energy light bulbs. Bed firm but comfy enough, and was quiet at night. Virtually... More

This is the second time we have stayed here. Despite negative reviews this is an EXCELLENT hotel. If you want a larger room ask for one. The rooms have been updated since we stayed here 2 years ago. They say the bathrooms will soon be updatd only. This is a PERFECT place to explore the beautiful old town. Parking hint:... More

The good news is that this hotel is in an excellent position just a short walk to many excellent restaurants, shops. tourist attractions and, as the name suggests - the old market. Now for the bad news....most bedrooms are decorated in a dark, dreary and depressing shade of brown with matching brown paint on the woodwork and coordinating dark brown... More
