Room was clean and tidy with just an unfortunate stench of cigarette smoke. Mattress was fine and I was exhausted so was looking forward to sleeping well. Well... the hotel has no sound insulation whatsoever so everyone walking and talking in the corridors can be heard and what is going on in the next room. If you're a light sleeper... More

this was like going to a budget hotel in the 90's. It was dirty, stank of cigarettes, and was situated in an area that you would not go out at night unless you wish to experience the unsavoury side of LeHavre. The low cost of this hotel does not outweigh the poor quality of this hotel. Never again

I booked this purely as overnight accommodation for catching a ferry next day. I got there just after 9 pm as it took me about 30 mins to find it which meant the security gates were closed and I had to wait for someone with an access code as the motel wasn't manned overnight.. The hotel was fine and less... More

Recently renamed "Ibis Budget". I've stayed at this hotel several times. It's the cheapest option in Le Havre if you want a bathroom ensuite, as far as I'm aware. The area is a bit strange, but I've never had any problems. It's relatively close to the train station and the university (20 min walk). The rooms are always clean. They... More

Had a problem to rate as 3 or 4. It falls between but the spotless room and shower / toilet swung it for me. Reception efficent rather than friendly, but quick and easy. The room was spotless and the carpets very clean, the public areas are in good condition, overall it is well presented. 20 mins walk from the Station,... More

I know this hotel very well, having stayed a good few times. Used to work across the way at Dresser Rand & live in nearby Hermeville for 3 years. Use it now when I'm visiting friends for re occasional weekend reunions. What you'd expect for the price -"budget" being the key. It's a fair way walking from the centre, &... More

Although superficially a bit 'isolated', it is actually quite close to quite a few shops etc. (I find that you can't take anything in Le Havre on first impressions. Worth the time to find out a bit about the town itself. The street plan is the same as pre-war and most public buildings seem to be in the same location... More

This hotel is in a good location, easy to find, and just right for a group passing through Le Havre. The manager was kind and well informed. The rooms were clean overall; however, there was a noticeable odor of cigarette smoke. This particular Etap Hotel combines the shower and toilet in one unit, which makes is inconvenient to have more... More
