stayed over at this establishment at the weekend. It's in a fantastic setting with lovely grounds and chalet type rooms x 10 - with the pub on the doorstep and could potentially be perfect with just a few tweaks. I felt the hotel didn't justify the £79 we paid. There was only twin room left which was fine but the... More

Had a very enjoyable stay here whilst visiting Rye for a Wedding. Very accommodating owner allowed us to check in early and was even kind enough to arrange transport to the train station on our departure. Room was cleaned to a very high standard, bedding and mattress clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and consisted of a high quality... More

Such great value for money. This low cost accommodation is no frills, but in a good way, a warm comfortable bed, a shower , storage, plenty of space and immaculately clean. All this and breakfast too. The location was quiet, and I would definitely stay again.

We aren't local and rang another restaurant last minute for a table who said they was fully booked- I asked for a recommendation and they said royal oaks! I rang and booked a table for that evening, I said we had a dog with us and they said that was fine- on arrival we was given a lovely table near... More

Went there on Monday night with a friend. It was a lovely country pub. Friendly barman with a great open fire. Good location with easy parking, great pub interior, worth a visit. Think on Tuesday nights they have a music night which sounds great.

What a fantastic pub, old beams, roaring log fires, we were looking forward to sampling the Steak and Guinness pie, unfortunately the landlord Pip currently doesn't do food. However, we were able to order a Chinese meal and sat in front of a lovely fire eating it. Pip provided warm plates, cutlery and serviettes and we could drink all the... More

We initially stumbled upon 'The Royal Oak' on our way to Rye - the next time it was our destination. Warm & cosy pub with welcoming & accomodating hosts, delicious homemade food, especially the Steak & Guinness pie which actually prompted our return. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful pub with very friendly welcoming landlord and staff, it was a fantastic night. Stayed in the accommodation at the Royal Oak which was perfectly fine for the nights stay at a good price and would definatly stay again if it means getting another awesome breakfast :) i think it would be very hard to find any dissapointment with the... I have always cooked on Christmas Day but this year with guests here we decided to eat out. It was an amazing meal and excellent value. Pip and Carmen worked so hard to ensure everything was served hot and the ambiance was lovely. I can't recommend this pub/ restaurant highly enough.
