This is a gorgeous hotel with big beams and lots of charm. It's not really in the harbour, but nowhere is far. Parking isn't that close, but you can stop in front to drop off and pick up. I didn't find it an issue. I didn't notice a noise problem and we stayed over the Easter holiday weekend. Our rooms... more

Wonderful hotel with a fantastic location. The food in the downstairs restaurant is delicious and the room we had overlooked a side street and the window box was full of beautiful red geraniums. Really romantic. more

Having stayed in Honfleur before, we knew the town a little and knew where this place was. We parked in a car park opposite while we settled in and then found free parking at the other end of the town which suited us. when we needed to pack the car we just brought it to the front of the building.... more

It is hard to request air conditioning in a 16th century house. Maybe they could use indoor mobile units...I don't know. I just think that before you book, you should make sure that the place has what you need. (especially air cond. for American tourists in the summer) I knew that the hotel was going to be a bit noisy... more

We saw this hotel (and room) on Samantha Brown's "Passport to Europe" show on the tube. A great recommendation. The "Samantha suite" is at the top of the stairs and is spacious, clean, and inviting. Honfleur and this three night stay were a delightful way to cap a visit to France. (DeGaulle Airport is an easy am drive for a... more

My daughter and I stayed one night during the week. The hotel has charm and is very clean. In an earlier review, someone mentioned that it is not a convenient location if you wish to have your auto nearby. This is true. We parked a block away, walked to the hotel and parked the car in the hotel's garage which... more

The hotel is in a great location, right in the centre of the town. Despite all the bars and restuarants, literally on the doorstep, it was peaceful within the hotel, even though we went in peak season [August]. The staff were very friendly and helpful. L'Absinthe felt properly French, rather than a modern anonymous hotel with no atmosphere. The [standard]... more

A Very Good Experience! I am sad to read that some travellers did not find their experience at L'absinthe to be agreeable. My wife and I spent three nights there recently, and whilst I would agree that the rooms were small, they had everything you would require. Earlier commentators will be glad to know that AC has been installed, and... more

The hotel's location, off the Vieux Porte and adjacent to a large square makes for noisy quarters in hot weather. Tippling guests from all the adjacent restaurants and bars carouse to all hours. And shop keepers start up very early in the morning. Even sound sleepers have troubles here. The chambre itself was lovely and furnished with exquisite taste. But... more
