We booked the L'Ecrin as part of our Normandy adventure and were not disappointed. The hotel owner and staff were extremely pleasant, respectful and helpful. The hotel has some eclectic décor that may not suit everyone's taste but we loved it. Our room was on the top floor so we had a skylight in our bathroom which we could open... More

Stayed early January with friends. Very French decor and no meals served other than a very good continental breakfast. Private parking which is a bonus. Within easy reach of all bars and art galleries around harbour. Excellent and friendly service. Lovely rooms and plenty of heating if needed. Looks like they also have good outside pool and some spa facilities... More

The best part was breakfast - Nam was delightful and served a tremendous breakfast of fresh squeezed OJ, meats, foie gras, local cheeses, eggs and fresh hot croissants (ooh lala!). Other breads, cereals and yogurt were also avail. Also had the best cup of coffee in our 2 weeks in France with this breakfast. Jeremy was a complete gentleman when... More

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to visit beautiful Honfleur. This charming little town has wonderful restaurants. We were never disappointed with our meals. Our hotel is another story. The pictures on the web site are beautiful. Unfortunately there was nothing good about our room. We were placed in a room that had once been the stable. Our... More

This is a charming little hotel in a nice quiet neighborhood but only 5 minutes walk from downtown and the harbor. It was a little confusing to find, but once you're there it is easy to walk anywhere. The staff was very nice and helpful as well. My only problem was about the hottest water I've ever experienced in a... More

This hotel has it all. On-site parking, a quiet neighborhood that is 5 minutes from the touristy harbor (the city's most interesting place), a fantastic staff, exquisite décor both in the public and guest rooms, beautiful grounds, and a great breakfast. All in a 3* property! Were it not for the lack of an elevator, this would definitely be a... More

We had a one night stay in this hotel. We were made to fee right at home and the facilities were beautiful. The art was wonderful. Felt like we were staying in a french Chateaux. Parking was convenient right on sight. Stay here if you want a different experience from the hotel chains.

A small lovely hotel very close to the city main street put far enough away to have a quiet place to stay over. The owners take good care to welcome you, provide maps and all the information needed to have a worthwhile stay. They listed all restaurants on a map and according to our request they came up with an... More

We stayed two nights here in a large room with good size bathroom with shower and tub and minibar in a separate building from main. We could open windows for good ventilation. The hotel looks like a historic building with incredible old furnishings and paintings. There is a separate billiards room as well as pool and spa which we did... More

Wow, to walk into L'Ecrin is like walking into the 17th century as gentry may have done way back then. It is a fabulous hotel in a centuries-old building with art treasures and very beautiful antique furnishings. Our room on level 2 was exquisite. We loved it. A great view from a window too. We felt like nobility. It is... More
