11 of us had a lovely Sunday evening meal. When i booked the owner said we could have our own part of the restaurant as there was so many of us. This was great as the children had a place to play without disturbing others and we could eat in peace. The food was beautiful all local produce service superb... More

Had a lovely meal in this pub with gran kids friends and family. The staff were very friendly and patient, the food was excellent and we were madam to feel very comfortable. We had the last house to ourselves and this kept the noise of the children away from other customers. Thank you

Staying literally 4 minutes walk away and didn't realise this place was here so such a pleasant surprise when we went in for a meal. Excellent choices on the menu. The food was truly scrumptious! Steak and roasted pork belly was our choice and both were cooked to perfection. Very helpful and attentive land lady. Would like to return again

We stayed for a short break the 14th-16th of June 2015. A relaxed warm welcome was received from Raphaelle who showed us around the hotel and then to our room. We were given room 3 and what a delight: a superb very comfortable round bed, a Juliet balcony, a bath a shower and a separate wc. The room was very... More

The playpen inn is wonderful. Clean airy rooms. All the home comfort you want at an amazing price. The staff are kind friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are to die for with a varied breakfasts menu cooked and served by one of the best chefs I have come across. You have to try the... More

Being an oast house with round towers it is a little quirky but extremely attractive really something different. First impression was wow this is great. The room was fine and recently decorated. The bar and eating rooms were comfortable and the gardens were colourful. One of its main benefits however was the very very friendly staff from owner to cleaner.... More

We arrived by motorcycle, soaking wet due to the heavy rain that day. The staff offered to dry our clouthing on the heating in the breakfast room. That was a piece of excellent service! The hotel is very cosy and embraces the history of the building. The garden is excellent and a great place to relax. The room was very... More

We really enjoyed our weekend here, the staff are all lovely. The décor could probably do with updating, our bedroom had a shower in one cupboard, a toilet in another and the sink in the room, but the bed was very comfortable, its was clean and we rather liked the quirky nature makes a change from standard hotel rooms. Breakfast... More

Thank you for your comments. I would like to point out that only our three annex rooms are allowed dogs in, not the rooms in the main building. They are also not allowed in our Restaurants. More

We stayed here Friday night. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The place is full of character and lovely and clean. We struggled to get a taxi to meet friends for dinner in town, so the landlady kindly offered to drive us. Full English breakfast in the morning which was a great way to start the day.
