The Playden Oasts Inn is on a country road with streetlights a 20 mins slow walk from Rye. Uphill but not very steep. Half hour walk from Train Station. A Taxi from the Station cost £5 if you have heavy suitcases. There is a Supermarket and a Toilet opposite the Train Station. Buses to the Inn appear to be few... More

Arrived on a friday afternoon at the pladen oasts only to be greeted by friendly staff on arrival. I checked in at reception and was firstly given all the information regarding opening times of the restaurant and bar with the food menu of the day and also what to expect over the weekend. My room for the weekend was to... More

Would recommend the hotel but not the restaurant. The bedroom was nice, nicely decorated, maybe a bit too pricey for what it is. We had brunch in Rye (at George, great place BTW), and wanted to have dinner at Playden Oast so that we could have some wine without having to drive. The decor in the pub/restaurant area is tacky,... We had a lovely stay here last weekend. The hotel is gorgeous and our room was lovely. We stayed in the annex in room 9 and it was perfect :) Breakfast was fantastic and staff were very pleasant! Will be returning!

Wife, myself and 8 week old baby stopped in here by chance on the way back from Rye to Sussex. Great friendly welcome, choice of seats and we had two Roast Beefs which were good classic Sunday Roast grub. Price was reasonable, pint of bitter was also very good, so a nice treat. Just what you need on a sunday.... More

We stayed here for two nights as a birthday celebration, and treated ourselves to one of the roundel rooms - a big round bed in a big round room in a "tower" of the oast house. Certainly a bit different! This is a very friendly, welcoming little hotel where you are made to feel at home very quickly.. The food... More

The Playden Oasts is just a wonderfully relaxing, welcoming inn.If you are looking for the bland big chain inns this is not for you. The decor is entirely fitting with the character of the place, it is warm and cosy. You get a lovely friendly welcome and nothing is too much. The bar and restaurant is comfy and is used... More

What a lovely place this is, the welcome is just so warm and nothing is to much trouble. We had 1 of the 'round rooms' complete with a round bed and a Juliette balcony, the room was very warm with plenty of space a good shower room. Having read other reviews we decided to eat in and were not disappointed.... More
