I stayed here for one night in September 14 for work. I arrived late as I was driving down from the Midlands after rush hour and this is the first place I have stayed at which phoned me to ask if I would like any food preparing as the restaurant was closing in half an hour (9pm), so I thought... On arriving at the Oast house, we were greeted by a lovely lady who made us very welcome...our room was very clean and comfortable, But needs a little attention to decoration as quite outdated ..Breakfast was excellent served by a lovely Irish Lady how looked after us so well nothing was to much trouble..even checked us out after waiting quite... Stayed September 2014, feel like we should focus on the good points first of all. The food was exceptional, the starter was a main course in itself. Would recommend both the fish pie and the lamb chops. Breakfast was enormous and very filling, with a good variety to choose from. The bar was very welcoming and the perfect place to... More

A total disappointment. Greeted by the smell of stale cooking fat when we arrived. Room badly decorated - paint toshed haphazardly. Mean loo paper - single ply and very small! All fire doors upstairs were perpetually left propped open - even when we closed them they would be propped open again. They are there for a reason - THE SAFETY... More

This is a pretty hotel, with friendly staff, and we enjoyed our stay here. The room was quite small but nice, and we enjoyed a drink in the bar on our first evening. If sunny then the outside areas are good to sit in, and fairly private. We booked the garden room, but didn't use the garden - it was... More

Sometimes searching for a place to stay on the web is hazardous. Descriptions can sometimes mislead. This hotel was not one of them. We found the staff friendly and the proprietor helpful and a good hostess. The hotel itself is fine although we found the double a little small but it is an oast house after all. The resturant is... Just outside Rye, this is a quirky little guest house with characterful round rooms, and a really great little bar. Choose between the round room bedrooms either above the bar (fine as long as you don't want an early night) and the one above the restaurant (as long as you don't want a long and peaceful lie-in)

A reasonably priced hotel just outside Rye, West Sussex. Bright and cheerful staff serving good, fresh local fish and meat. One restaurant and bedroom in a roundel. Very comfortable. Convenient to the historic Cinque Port of Rye, Winchelsea and Rye Harbour. Although I've not stayed there this year I've called in for meals.
