Loved this hotel. Small rooms, which is to be expected in Europe. Clean and intimate, the hotel is located near the beach, stores, and restaurants. We loved to buy fish at the wharf and eat it. Vielle Normandie at its best.

Warm, friendly and helpful staff. Clean adequately sized rooms - a perfect place for exploring Trouville and Deauville. Central to Trouville - easy walk to the train station. Would definitely come back. One snag for car drivers - very small car park. Hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars. A lovely hotel.
It seems we had a very different experience to all the other reviewers on here.
We did have a pleasant welcome when we initally arrived at the hotel, the lady on reception directed us to the court year car park etc. But as my husband came back in to take our bags to our room he was 'collared' by an...

We stayed at Le Fer a Cheval for four nights in the middle of August and can assure you that this hotel is a gem!
The rooms are stylish, the staff are warm and friendly, and the service is outstanding. The hotel is also perfectly positioned in the centre of Trouville, with some great pâtisseries and restaurants nearby, and the...

Writing this review a bit late, but I'm having vivid flashbacks of a wonderful few days in Normandy, specifically in Trouville sur Mer and I long to return. The Hotel Le Fer a Cheval is a very charming property located in close proximity to fine restaurants, the beach, beautiful Norman mansions, the Casino, grocery. Wi-fi was available in the lobby....

A really nice family hotel, tastefully decorated and furnished and with really warm and friendly staff. Based on the standard of the decor and furnishing it would justify more than it's 2 star rating, but it is really dragged down by 2 things -- the room size and the noise !!
Our room (room 209) must be the smallest double...

First we thank you for your comments. The hotel used to be 3 old buildings wich have been joined, that's why rooms have different size. For your information, you had booked a standard room. We also propose superior rooms wich are bigger.
Regarding stairs, we are renovating this part of the hotel and are waiting for the carpet wich will...

Booked as package with Brittany Ferries so didn't quite know what to expect, lovely surprise. A very welcoming, warm comfortable hotel. All rooms have been modernised and probably due to the very reasonable rate we got for the whole trip we did have one of smaller rooms but it was lovely; beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfasts were lovely...

We stayed two nights here, and it is good value for money because the location is ideal in a quiet side street in the centre of Trouville-sur-mer, which makes it easy to get to Deauville by boat and/or foot and provides excellent access to all of the town's restaurants. The beach is beside the hotel, a two minute walk to...

We started to book too late so did not find any decent hotels in this part of Normandy at that time. The value-price ratio is OK, the hotel does not want to be more than it is. It is OK for teenagers, backpackers but anyone who needs some comfort does not want to sleep here. Trouville has no centre and...

What a pleasant suprise. As this is a 2 star hotel our expectations were that it may be a little run down. Its a lovely hotel, the rooms are nice, light and airy. It certainly doesn't seem like a 2 star. All of the staff are friendly ( I'd forwarned my American husband that the French can be a bit...
