Good Points : Very friendly and helpful staff.. Well positioned in a fairly quiet area for the Memorial Museum and main road access. Bad Points : Very small bedroom, and poorly designed 'bathroom'. No lift. But as as someone has said - at that price you do not expect the Hilton !

I stayed two nights in this hotel while visiting the Normandy beach landings. For the price I found this hotel very pleasing. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming when arriving. I checked into my room (34) and it definitely suited my needs. Nothing fancy but a comfy bed and clean washroom is all I required. Internet worked very... More

First impressions are good, this budget hotel is, as many in the same budget category are, situated in the North-west suburbs of Caen approximately 3 miles from the City centre (and just down the road from the Memorial), in an attractive industrial estate amongst some quite interesting modern architecture. The entire area is clean with no litter or graffiti in... More

The outside appearance of the hotel is very nice with tables and hedging. Reception is manned until 23.00 which was a great relief as often we've stayed in places like Quick Palace and Ibis Budget which are only manned for a couple of hours during breakfast and early evening! The room wasn't great, but we only paid 40 Euros having... More

I stayed in the Hotel Crocus Caen Memorial which I think is this one. This score would have been higher but when I arrived, admittedly later than expected just after 9, I checked in, put my bag in my room, brought in my laptop and came straight back down to eat in the restaurant - which did look nice. However... More

OK - I wanted to break up a long journey across France - and I acknowledge that according to Booking.Com that I had booked the cheapest Hotel in Caen - but at almost £80 for two rooms (think UK Travel Lodge prices) and then a very expensive and poor evening meal and breakfast (which is hardly possible in France) then... We arrived to a nice hotel and a nice reception and restaurant area. However as mentioned on other reviews, once behind this facard things go down hill quickly. Dim and tired corridors leading to below par rooms that have seen much better days. Loose electic sockets, plastic bathroom and a unpleasant odor does nothing to greet a weary traveller.

The pricing at this 'hotel' does not reflect its run-down state. There is adequate parking and the reception and dining areas are both acceptable, but when you go through the corridors to the rooms, it is dark, dank, dirty and smelly. The rooms are more basic than an army barrack room, dirty with a barely adequate shower and toilet. The... More

We found this hotel to be a good location for us and for the various sightseeing trips we had planned. The rooms are adequate, nothing more or less, unfortunately they have an aroma of cigarette smoke and poor lighting. The en suite looked like an afterthought but proved adquate although lighting in toilet was awful too. Like a previous viewer... More

The hotel was in a good location for visiting Caen and Bayeux. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, the bathroom was very small and dark but the shower was powerful. We ate in the restaurant and found the food well cooked and tasty. this was our first hotel of a three week tour of France and paid a... More
