We stayed here for three nights as part of a tour group visiting the Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St Michel and various WWII sites around the Normandy landing beaches. The hotel itself is not bad at all. The location, however, without a car is very poor. I'm not keen on all the bright orange paintwork in the reception area, corridors &... more

It was in october 2007 on my year 11 normandy battlefields trip with school that i ventured into the Kyriad, with sights set low, after judging the hotel from the outside. It looked grim and horrible, the kind of place you would expect to see in a horror film. Unfortunatel, to my prediction, the rooms were DIABOLICAL! The beds were... more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to visit the Normandy beaches and memorials. Typical 2* budget hotel - you get what you pay for. The rooms were clean and basic but were a little cramped due to a very large television on a stand which had to be moved if you wanted to go out of the patio door!... more

We arrived in Caen to visit some WWII memorials as my wife and I both have History degrees and were really looking forward to the beaches of Normandy and William the Conquerer . Asked the local tourism staff to put us in a hotel in the city centre with internet access, not wifi. Get to this hotel on the outskirts... more

The hotel staff were friendly and the location was excellent for visiting Normandy sights and the memorial. The rooms (we had two adjoining) were very cramped and kind of shabby-looking. It wasn't a deluxe accomodation but it served its purpose and was fairly inexpensive (and available). more

We booked this hotel two months earlier, and prices seemed reasonable - until the pound dropped against the Euro!! But that wasn't the hotel's fault! The hotel is located on the other side of Caen's ring road, and seemed popluar with coach parties, possibly because of it's location. However, there is only one brasserie within walking distance, because the area... more

After reading reviews, we booked this hotel among another 10 for our recent trip to Normandy. We were there for 3 nights and found a group of high schoolers the first day. They were noisy and the breakfast area was decimated the first morning. Staff was overworked and food was in short supply. The next day, no groups and very... more

Checked in after an 11 hour bus ride from England with high expectations of a clean, comfortable hotel. A little shocked to walk into a very small room with only a skylight for a window! The bathroom was exceptionally small, with only a half bath and a hand-held shower (think of your college dorm - only worse!!!), and two single... more

Turned up after hellish drive from Loire Valley- knew there was a Budget Hotel near Memorial Museum with Free Parking but couldn't remember it's name. Found it- Kyriad €62 per night for a room that sleeps three (1 Double, 1 single) Ground floor room very clean comfortable. Tea/Coffee facilities are a bonus as saves me using the travel kettle. Huge... more
