When I booked the room I asked for a quiet room and indeed I had a nice spacious room and bathroom, good bed, very quiet, very neat and clean. The lady was very helpful. The breakfast is served in the room, exactly at the time I asked for it. Nothing bad to say about the hotel. There is no lift... More

When I first entered my room, it was so spotless, clean and in such immaculate condition, I wondered if I was the first to use this room. The room was large (especially after Paris) airy and comfortable. The greeting I received when I arrived was exceptional and the nice lady was very helpful in providing info about what is the... I admit .. I choose this hotel as my favorite one was booked out. But I have to say that I'm happy about it. The hotel does not make a big impression from the outside but inside we had very nice service even if I made a mistake in my booking and I arrived with 3 kids and they were... More

The hotel was lovely, the room spacious for the price, clean and fresh. The breakfast each day was delicious and the customer service was excellent. Good location for walking, shopping and transport. Only down side was the stairs vs. suitcase.

This hotel is run by a lovely lady and is very comfortable & clean. She will deliver a nice continental breakfast to your room at the time you request and deliver it with a big smile. She was also helpful in directing us around Caen. The only problem with this hotel is that you have to haul your suitcase up... More

The Astrid is located near the tram line and is right behind a bus stop for the #2 which takes you directly to the Caen Memorial. The room was large enough for two, and the lady who greeted us and checked us out in the morning was quite friendly. We felt quite welcome and enjoyed our stay for one night.

This is definitely a budget hotel, and you get what you pay for. The rooms can do with updating and don’t look too closely at the corners of the bathroom, blackened with mould. However, it’s hard to really complain at 54 euros per night for a double (we were only there for 1 night as a stopover, which was enough).... More

Usual smallish room and bath but our room was clean and bed linens seemed newer. We were there in spring so can't comment on mosquito problem. Small annoyance for us was being just far enough from the train station that we didn't feel like walking. The local tram runs from the station almost to the front door. We never completely... More

Good value price/quality Rooms and bathrooms are basic, but clean and quite spacious. Main "pros" of the hotel are excellent and very helpful staff and location - just halfway from old bassin Saint-Pierre to Castle (two minutes on foot both). Hotel is bike-friendly, bicycles spent the night in a garage. There are some restaurants nearby but i recommend to eat... More

Twitchy the Wonder Bunny, a pink and blue globe trotting bunny spent three nights at the Hotel Astrid. The rooms are very dated and could use a make over. The rooms were quiet with not a lot of street noise. There was a problem with mosquitoes. If the windows were left open, you were bitten. If the windows were closed,... More
