My husband and I stayed here for the D-Day events. It was well located for this - near the highway. Had we wanted to enjoy the city, we would have had to drive or take the tram. This hotel is exactly what you expect from these chains but the front desk staff was not that great. There only seemed to... more

I was with a party of retired pensioners from Kent. I am female and was to share with another lady. The bed settee was not made up, so I was disappointed because I had requested a twin bedded room. I found reception rather cold about it. The bed was uncomfortable and old. The webbing was soft at either end and... more

I have always found Novotels on the continent to be so much better than in the UK and this was no exception. Just stayed as a stopover prior to catching early ferry. Couldn't fault the place or the staff, had a comfortable room and a good meal. Obviously with the poor rate of exchange its not as good value as... more

This hotel was great for the price! It was a very quick checkin and they were very accomadating for my group. They even gave us our own conference room for the continental breakfasts. It was in a cute town and in close proximity to the beaches. It was very clean and comfortable. This is the place to stay affordably in... more

This was a return visit for us after very nice stay previously. The hotel is in a good position with relatively easy access off the main ring road. Main tram stop just down the road for easy way into Caen itself which was good fun and value through buying multi trip tickets. Sunday morning market was well worth the trip... more

I turned up here at around 6 pm with my 12 year old son without a booking and having just followed the road signs. They had a comfortable, spacious and clean room for E105. It was near a huge supermarket, so we could buy a 'picnic' dinner, and we used the mini-bar for some milk in the morning for breakfast.... more

We arrived on Friday 26th October and was really surpised how modern and clean the reception area was. There was a Playstation and small childrens play area which kept the kids occupied while we booked in and while we had a few drinks in the small bar. The room was ample, clean and warm. The shower excellent. The only down... more

The Novotel Caen was much older and more run down than I expected it to be. My room reeked of cigarettes, even though I had requested a non-smoking room. We had booked a triple, but the third bed in the room (a sofa bed) had not been pulled out, nor were we given enough towels for three. The shower curtain... more

We took a break in March to see Caen, Mont Saint Michelle etc. with 2 children aged 8 & 10. We found the hotel staff to be friendly and welcoming, the room spacious, clean and well prepared and breakfast relaxed and abundant. In summary, a reasonably priced, clean and hassle free stop over ideally placed for visiting Caen and Normandy... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here in the easter break 2006 and took my boyfriend's brother of 14 along with us. The room was basic but very very clean with tv and coffee making facilities. Beds were very comfortable, even the sofa bed was comfy. The breakfast at the hotel is quite a good price and very very nice with... more
