This hotel is perfectly fine for a short stay while in Bayeux, but I would not chose to stay here for more than a day or two. The hotel can best be described as basic. Our room was functional but devoid of any charm -- very simple furnishings without any added extras can best describe our soul less room. The... more

We wanted to stay in a very central location and that we did get, we were close to every thing we wanted to see and the owner was very helpful with directions. The Hotel itself was shabby and needed a really deep cleaning. I did not take off my shoes in the room. The bathroom was clean, nice towels, good... more

The hotel is comfortable and only a five minute walk from the superb Bayeux cathedral, which is visible from the breakfast room. Staff very friendly. Rooms basic but again comfortable and fit for purpose. Limited (chargeable) off road parking available but street parking would be OK, road relatively quiet and safe. Standard continental style breakfast - chargeable. Location is very... more

Charming and friendly hotel in Bayeux (run by its owner and her family) was a great base to explore Normandy. Walkable to Bayeux Tapestry and right in the very French small town. Simple rooms but large and well suited for our family. Relaxing self-serve breakfast in upstairs room. Helped with dinner reservations at nearby restaurant, directions, parking on site, laundry... more

My wife and I couldn't see what all the fuss is about. The best thing about the place is its location which is certainly convenient. However the hotel itself is shabby and not in the characterful way that you sometimes find in France. The carpets in the rooms and common areas were horrid. We found the management to be unhelpful... more

We were welcomed at the door by Mireille, who had cooresponded with us by email prior to our arrival. She greeted us kindly and put us (my wife and in-laws) in a large room just off the lobby. Before we settled in, she offered to put us in individual rooms for no additional charge, a favor we greatly appreciated. Rooms... more

What a great bargain in the beautiful town of Bayeux! I had no idea what to expect when my husband wanted to take a D-Day tour and we chose Bayeux as our home base. This little town became our favourite spot on our 2 week vacation in Europe. The town itself is picturesque, small and friendly and we had some... more

Hotel Le Bayeux is fantastic. We originally had reservations for 2 nights, but we weren't able to make it there for the first night and we were not charged the penalty fee. Mirielle was extremely helpful and super nice. Our room was perfectly comfy w/ a pretty good size bathroom. The hotel itself is really easy to find from the... more

Booked this hotel not knowing what to expect. Were using Bayeux as a base to tour around the Normandy area, visit the DDay Beaches and cemetaries. Staff was excellent at giving touring advice. They provided maps, outlined routes, and circled highlights. Parking was not plentiful, in fact we for some reason weren't even offered, it was suggested we park down... more

A great hotel and a great bargain. The owner is delightful and the location is great! Two blocks from the main street in Bayeux and 1 black for the Tapestry. Numerous restaurants within 2-3 blocks. The rooms were good size and the staff was very friendly. Owner spoke English very well. Would receommend this hotel to friends and family more
