Have stayed here several times over the past few years, and I always find the owners lovely and the place very accommodating. Would spend time here again were I to travel. Conveniently located in the center of the town, and it's also a few yards from where many of the D-Day tours depart. Very nice and worth your consideration.

The Churchill is ideally located, not only for exploring Bayeux but for the tours to Mont St. Michel and the D-Day sites as well because many of them meet either at the hotel's lobby or at the Place de Quebec 100 meters away. The property itself is quite something - it is full of D-Day photos, relics and memorabilia, many... More

Hotel Churchill was recommended by a fellow traveler from previous Band of Brothers Tour, who had returned to Bayeux to further explore Normandy WWII sites. We too were doing the same thing after completing a fabulous Uniworld River Cruise Avignon to Lyon we drove to Bayeux. Arrived around 11pm, and room on the first level which is 2nd floor. Room... Eric and his wife are great host! Great location and great value. Clean rooms and the walls of pictures serve as a fantastic tribute to WWII US Soldiers. If you wish to stay in a central location, in a great town and at a hotel that is so welcoming while visiting Normandy. Then look no further Hotel Churchill is the... More

We stayed here on a family trip the rooms were acceptable - Certainly nothing special. However, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend if you are on a budget but not a splurge trip.

Hotel owner Eric could not have been more welcoming. This former soccer player is living his dreams and it shows. He obviously loves what he does and that infuses the whole experience. The lovely, comfortable rooms are complemented by the delicious continental breakfast. Loved the paintings of Normandy cows on the walls, along with DDay paraphernalia.Flexibility for families was also... More

We stayed in Room 101. It is up a flight of stairs on the right. We did hear the guest traffic coming up the stairs at night. Wasn't as much of a bother as the lights shining into our window all night from the spotlights outside. We asked to have our room moved, but the only ones available were by... More

First, Bayeux is worth the destination for a couple of reasons. It's very close to the WW II Normandy Beaches. And this Norman town was spared the destruction of so much of Normandy. It's the typical walled city with a charming river running through it with architecture dating back hundreds of years. Time to circumnavigate the town: about two hours.... More

There may be other hotels in this area but I cannot imagine why anyone would want to stay in any of them. The Winston Churchill was perfect. A great location, very comfortable, and an extremely affable owner at the front desk what seemed like 24hours a day. Four of us spent 2 nights here while on a battlefield tour ....... More
