First, Bayeux is worth the destination for a couple of reasons. It's very close to the WW II Normandy Beaches. And this Norman town was spared the destruction of so much of Normandy. It's the typical walled city with a charming river running through it with architecture dating back hundreds of years. Time to circumnavigate the town: about two hours.... More

There may be other hotels in this area but I cannot imagine why anyone would want to stay in any of them. The Winston Churchill was perfect. A great location, very comfortable, and an extremely affable owner at the front desk what seemed like 24hours a day. Four of us spent 2 nights here while on a battlefield tour ....... More

I just returned from beautiful Bayeux where I enjoyed my stay at the novel Hotel Churchill. Eric was an engaging host with excellent recommendations for dinner(Au Ptit Bistro & Le Drakkar). The breakfast was quite nice with excellent bread & coffee. There is a quiet area to put your feet up and read in the evening with or without a... More

We just visited this hotel in November during Thanksgiving 2014 and the owners were so gracious and helpful to us. The pictures of this hotel look exactly like what you see. It is just so cute and charming - room was immaculate and we loved our stay here and look forward to returning again when we go back to Normandy.

Spent 4 nights at this wonderful little hotel. Five family members traveling together; Paris & Normandy. The hotel itself is like a memorial to the liberation of France. The rooms were small, but clean, comfortable and charming. No elevator, so be prepared to haul your luggage up the small winding stairs. The breakfast was simple, but good, great coffee, and... We (my 2 adult sons and I) had not planned ahead for a trip to Normandie. We were in Paris during the first week of November and decided to take the opportunity for a side trip to visit the WWII historical sites. We sought the assistance of the concierge at our Paris hotel in booking a place to stay in... More

Great location in the center of town, you can walk to wonderful restaurants, the tapestry and cathedral in 5 min or less. Safe and easy public parking just outside back door. Delicious breakfast in a darling breakfast room with efficient and friendly service. Great hosts - we were well taken care of by both Mattieuz and Eric, who went out... More

We stayed one night in Bayeux at the Churchill. The weather was perfect when we arrived after an easy train ride from Paris, so we walked with our roller bags...not a bad 10-minute walk at all as long as you know where you're going (which we didn't! but we stopped and asked a very helpful local) Our room wasn't ready... We enjoyed our 3 night Churchhill experience very much. Why? We travel light and for us, it was an easy walk from the train station. After reading many reviews, when we booked we chose a deluxe room and had a lovely view of the cathedral. Breakfast was everything we like: chocolate croissants, cold cuts on warm baguettes, hard boiled eggs,... More

Finally made it to Normandy for WW II tour and Bayeux was our departure town. This hotel was fine for the one night we were here. Able to walk to restaurants, need taxi for the train station. Pleasant place, plan on somewhere else for breakfast.
