We stayed here for two nights in June and really loved it. It is very centrally located almost on the main road but with a nice quiet entrance and within walking distance of all the popular sites. It is an old building that has been beautifully maintained. The hotel has lots of character and is filled with war memorabilia. We... More

Located right in the center if town (about 3 doors from the Visitor Center). Great staff, nice clean rooms, courtyard sitting area, breakfast available for extra charge. On arrival, best if you find you way to back entrance where the parking is and you can unload your car--no space in front, street is often closed to vehicles. Parking is public... More

I read all the reviews and was very excited to stay here. First, the hotel is in a great location and it was nice to be able to walk everywhere. Rooms, however are small, musty, and old and the comforter needs to be updated. Room 208 was up 2 flights of winding stairs and then down 5 stairs. This was... More

The staff we met were very helpful, both desk staff (spoke English) as well as breakfast room staff (very little English but very pleasant). The breakfast was on par with the other hotels we've visited in France. The location is convenient. We stayed in the room next to the desk; I felt weird entering the room from the lobby, but... More

The Churchill Hotel is, as you might guess from its name, a place which seems to cater mostly for English and American tourists doing the D-Day landings tour. It is stuffed with interesting photographs and memorabilia from the war. The building itself is old fashioned but has a lot of character and the staff are helpful and nice. Best of... More

The Churchill is located in the center of Bayeux. Filled with WWII photos and memorabilia, it provides a wonderful sense of the D-Day events in the area. We had a spacious room; our only complaint was that the WIFI service is substandard--very spotty. We were not, for example, able to Skype from our room.

The Mr and I stayed here for one night prior to a D-Day tour. The hotel was comfortable and well located to all the sites of Bayeux. The room was good sized, clean, and had ample storage space. The bathroom was modern with a good size shower. We had a little trouble with the free WiFi but we were in... More

We stayed in room 15, one night, located directly off the lobby. Thought there would be a noise issue, but, not so. The double doors solved that issue. The bathroom (glass shower only) was excellent, spacious and bright. Room was comfortable and spacious; also had a single twin bed, besides the king. The breakfast buffet was sufficient, but not extraordinary.... More

This is a wonderful place to stay as home base for Normandy Beaches and US Cemetery. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel is full of pictures of American GIs and locals after liberation. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to secure transportation to local sites for us. The Tapestry is next door and the... More

Recently, my husband and I and several folks on a tour of the Normandy beaches stayed here. Our room was small but charming, impeccably neat, and comfortable. The bathroom always had hot water and was also kept spotless. Every morning, we awoke to the smell of baking bread, and our breakfast was tasty and hot. Served by Louisa, who greeted... More
